Godspeed64: Ah hahaha, not so soon...this one has The Who's Live At Leeds feeling written all over it..just love the single coil vibe but very fat sounding

Btw, got it used, has some nicks but nothing major. The tuners were upgraded to Grovers.

Damnit. I'm really gas-ing for one of those SG Classics and Jazzmasters now, especially after hearing Incubus's Mike Ezinger using it! The tone is just amazing!!

i saw a real 1957 with black plastics on jackson's rare guitars.
apparently they made a gold top with black plastics even before jb popularized it

Don't think so... The JB model comes with mismatched knobs... Still, that's one mean-looking GT!

apparently gibson made the 57's with black plastics when they ran out of cream as they began using the cream plastics for the 58s and the 59s that were being made at that time.
is that a r7 then?

yes. an r7. just changed the plastics to black. the pickguard doesnt fit perfectly though. need to buy a re-issue pickguard to have a perfect fit

I thought it looked fine, unless there is a small gap between the bridge pup ring and the pickguard?

theres a small gap between teh neck pick up and pickguard. i was informed that re-issues have a different pickguard size and pups distance compared to standards.
