Hmmm, if that's the case, I stand corrected.

What made me thought something was off - the "crown" usually appears on SG models, a Standard usually has "Standard" on the truss rod cover instead of "Les Paul," and the close-up shot of the headstock shows the Gibson logo doesn't look very right.

Probably I should spend even more time on MLP forums, hehe!

aye okay.. the Gibson crown logo is also on the limited runs of the les paul classic series.. like the classic antiques and classic customs..

I've seen that guitar in stores here, the reason why I asked the place of purchase. It's definitely legit.

2nd in line is Fender with regards to confusing guitars.

yeah thats true. there's plenty of info available on the web, plus Gibson's customer service can tell you the shipping date and model in some cases of the guitar if you provide them with the serial number.
