this just in.

AA Flame top (Wish it were a nicer top, but this will do!)

Planning to put in the set of Suhr Doug Aldrich pickups that i have and an RS kit which is on the way.

Sweet top and the honeyburst is to die for!

The first gen Classic Plus have tops that can pass the Premium Plus line. With the "Model" script and thin binding on the cutaway, these early 90's Classic plus are most sought after.

I have a 96 Amber LPC Premium Plus, and it has the LPCPP inscribed on the bridge pup cavity. It has the snot green inlays, but no pickguard hole, since the color amber (like PRS) can show the 3D flames through and through, the pisckguard was never intended to be installed.

It's quite light and I agree with you, some strats can even weigh more than these classics. Tone is LP still...thick, beefy and angst driven.

Here's mine:

thanks! yeah thats why i was searching for an early 90s one! Plus its older than me.. makes it even cooler ha!

Man, that top on your LPCPP is SWEET! very very nice! Don't see too many of those kind of maple tops on gibsons anymore..

the War Zone 2 is fantastic for the money. very focused QC, tone is just excellent; UNO's Tesla Customs are great. no plans to swap them out

Are they available in any other colours? Which SV did you get it from? Sorry for asking so many questions. Haha! Really interested cause the inlays look sick!

Very nice Axe-Fx II!! Wish I could get my hands on one. How long did you have to wait and roughly how much did it set you back?

Meanwhile, I've changed my set-up to 2 sweet little low-wattage amps...

The Night Train sounds great with a strat, and the Tweaker is simply oodles of fun with a wide variety of tones.

Fibredrive, thats a sweet set up! good amp choices! I was having bad GAS for the egnater tweaker awhile ago.

I waited.. a few months on the waiting list. like 4-5 months i believe haha. It cost over 3k.. Shipping and taxes were not cheap! Would save quite a bit if you have someone carry it back for ya.

Dezng, yeah man FINALLY. But they took like 9 days to locate my item AFTER it arrived there haha, could've had it much earlier! Yes, its stinking amazing! I thought the ultra was good, but the II feels even more natural and alive.. I don't really know what words to use haha. The low/mid gain sounds area excellent. I'm hooked on the 59 bassman cleans as well as the bogner shiva cleans! yeah! That amp is stellar too! btw, have you ordered your MFC 101? haha would it be cheaper to ship two together?

It's been a while since I've posted here. After so many years, I've finally got a chance to own an offset guitar I dare to call my own. It's a first year production Fender Japan Jazzmaster JM66-70 (E Serial number). Jazzmasters & Jaguars were not reissued during the JV years unfortunately. Not only is the wood grain awesome, it's in brand new condition. Everything on this piece is stock. Best buy of the year for me.

Why the conversion from Ibanez RGs to Fender JMs? After playing a JM66 with vintage sized frets for a while, I started to noticed that I've been playing a lot of sharp notes when I go back to playing my RGs. Although more difficult to play, I like the feeling of "fighting" with the guitar to squeeze the best tones out of it. I wonder how many of you would agree to that statement.

I'm going to take the Fender route from now on. Vintage sized frets & smaller radius necks here I come!

Enough talk, time for pictures!

Azunyan approves of the JM pickups. Check out the veneer slab board at the same time.

Hope you guys enjoy the pictures!

9 days! That's a long time! You must be damn worried!

Does yours shipped with 3.04? The ABCD knob must be a nice feature for you too. Yes! The new firmware with highres sounds awesome! So real and alive! For mid gain tone you should try the Trainwreck too. There's 2 in fact, Wrecker and FAS Wrecker, one more open the other slightly more compressed but both stellar! The Fender stuffs are damn nice too. The Friedmans are my staple Marshall tones. Actually the drive pedals are great for boosting low gain amps just like what you do on real amps. The combinations you can do with the Axe is simply mind-blowing.

No, I've yet to order the MFC101 yet. Thought of doing it via Ebenex. When you ordering? Maybe we can really save some on shipping.

BTW, have you heard? The Edge just started to incorporate Axe FX II in his rig. Hope he will share his patches! Wahahaha.

Relinquish69, looking at that makes me miss my JM which I sold about a year plus back!

Dezng, yeah i was freaking out haha. nope, it came with 3.02, i updated it to 3.04. Ooh okay, yeah I'm still messing around with it. Found some of the nice factory presets which I'm sure I'll adapt into my sounds!

Aye okay, I'm hoping to do it asap.. Borderlinx has 20% off shipping until 31 dec, thats why im considering doing it via them. I want to get my axe fx rig up by mid January haha. Thinking of picking up mission exp pedals too.. Also sourcing out for some nice rack cases.. I found some in the US but shipping over will be a PAIN!

Also, am negotiating a deal for a used one.. but the seller is considering keeping it. we'll see how that goes haha.

haha whoa! Yeah man, i would love to steal his shimmer and dotted eight sounds.

I have since removed the sticker and changed the stock pots to Japanese pots. Changed the stock switch to Ernie Ball switch. Changed the stock bridge (it had a thin block) to a Wilkinson bridge with full sized block. The stock pickups stays! They are already great sounding! Glossy maple neck, front and back. A great Strat to play..
