I used to have a 92 Classic Plus too! Color and flame quite similar. Damn, I miss it now.

Here's my old LP

The RS kit is great! I have one on mine LP too. It really opens up to its natural woody tone. You should also order the historic truss rod cover and the historic pickup rings too la! Awesome score btw!

Sweet! Your piece the flame is a bit deeper though haha. Yeah man! The LP by itself sounds great i actually had second thoughts about modifying it haha. but i already ordered the parts so i might as well.

don't think i'll get the historic stuff la haha quite expensive right? (unless of course the pick up rings do affect the tone of the guitar..) I might change out the TRC for a custom TRC though.

also.. my piece is VERY light. I think its even lighter than my strat! I got a shock when i picked it up.

thinking if i should change the knobs out too.. these look good

The RS kit really makes alot of difference. You'll not regret it. Your already great sounding guitar will sound phenomenal!

Anyways, the historic rings will not directly improve your tone but allows you to raise the bridge pickup closer to the strings and not look weird without the PU sticking out.

Wow that is a SWEET LP. Which model is it? Hahaha should I do hold ones with silver insets or gold with gold inserts? Ahh I see, I'll go and read up more on them. Thinking if I should change to locking tuners and tone pros or Faber locking hardware too. How about the tone change for top wrapping?

Thanks! It's a 05 Standard Faded.

I think silver looks best with burst. Kluson doesn't stay in tune as good as locking tuners but I think require to enlarge the holes on the headstock, maybe I'm wrong though. Top wrapping reduce tension on the strings but the angle on the bridge to tailpiece is reduced so it might effect sustain slightly. Another thing to mod if you're keen is the tailpiece. Changing to a lightweight aluminum one makes a huge difference in tone (gives "open-ness") IMHO and make sure you fix it as close to the body as possible.

Nice, good photography too haha.

Yeah, I remember reading some tone pros one can be used without modifications.

Ooh okay, yeah I do have some reading to do haha. I have a bad habit.. This itch to buy parts to mod before I even get something haha.

Rule of thumb: Black knobs for solid finishes, amber knobs for bursts; colour of inserts should match your hardware colour(eg. Pup covers, stopbar, etc.)

btw dezng, where'd you get those knobs? Seems like yours have silver inserts.. most ive seen only have gold except the non original ones on ebay heh!

Gibson does not sell knobs with silver inserts but have them on custom shop models. If you notice the cs pix, theirs is like mine, silver with small fonts. I bought from the same guy at the link you provided. His is the most authentic looking. Most of them the "volume" and "tone" fonts are too big. His knobs have nice and small fonts. Just get from him. I did my research and that's the best and cheapest! LOL

LOL! Yeah man, I was searching for them.. but nooooo couldn't find them anywhere haha. except on the 60s tribute guitars haha. cool, thanks!
