hey subversion, re your highway 1's.
im thinkin of getting one, tho i read couple reviews on harmony central that states the 2nd and 4th positions are not wounded out of phase?
and hows your finish holding up?

the guy i'm buying from has a jan 2006 model, so its still the older highway 1 design but with greasebuckets.

hi there graceland resident...

the greasebucket equipped H1 are indeed reverse wound/ reverse polarity, only the initial batch of H1 strats, are not.

there is no issue on the finish (of my guitar), it's still good as it is. for those of us who handle our guitars quite recklesslessly or simply cannot accept the fact that your guitar dings easily, any satin finished instrument isn't recommended.

so what RW/RP means is its hum cancelling, but still able to achieve the quack sound in 2nd and 4th positions to a certain degree?

the finish i dont mind, i actually like it for the satin finished neck.
even eric johnson's signature strat has a similar finish, which eric also says lets the wood breathe more.

there will always be a certain kinda quack when 2 single coils are operated simultaneously, with the reverse wound circuitry in effect, there's this signature jangle that got many addicted...

new @ G77: MI Audio- Tube Zone
List: $299

this is perhaps the best, high gain, tube-voiced pedal i've come across. it's simply superb. it sounds like a super saturated Marshall/ Peavey Triple XXX. amazing...

Tube Zone review: current priority.

the TZ is a wonderful little pedal, it's beyond compare to many drive-type pedals out there- even the ones with actual tubes in them. what it gives off is a very convincing saturated tube tone + versatility to boot. the TZ can do blues crunch/ high gain metal with ease.

if you own a good pre-amp + cab, the TZ is all you need for good drive/ distortion.
