Basically, the co-guitarist in the band I used to be in gave it to me because he thought it didn't work (actually it had an intermittent loose connection on the input socket which I rectified) so I got the thing for nothing. He bought it in the late 80s from Andy's Guitar Workshop in Denmark Street, London. This is a quite famous store, renowned for trading second hand instruments and gear and a regular stop for well known musicians. Apparently, this pedal was sold to the store by the roadie of Gary Moore. This is what he was told when he bought it. The pedal has a sticker on one side with 'Gary' written on it in pencil. Whether I believe it or not, well, I'm not sure, but that's the story.
I put it on eBay once. The guide price from Guitarist Magazine's Vintage Pedals roundup (even for one not used by a famous musician) is in the order of 100 - 150 GBP (so around $450 SGD). When I listed it I actually got sent a bunch of abusive messages by people thinking I was trying to con people, so I withdrew it. It's not for sale now - I like the sound it makes and use it quite a lot now.

the reason why people claimed that you were trying to con them is probably because the DM-2 was produced during the silver screw -> black screw transition period of time. many claim that the silver screw DM-2 doesnt exist cos they are as hard to find as a chicken's teeth. those that actually have silver screws probably came from another pedal ( maybe to fetch a higher price? ). thats what I read.
silver screw pedals have a stamp at top right hand corner under the lid. if there is....

They exist alright. Apart from mine, I have seen many pictures of silver screw DM-2s, including one in "Guitar Effects Pedals - the practical handbook" by Dave Hunter which I have.
There's no stamp as you say, but if you hold it in your hand, you'll know it's a genuine Boss pedal. Care to try it?

it's a slim type (but nothing Ibanez Wizard slim), even more slender than the Gibson's slim-taper/ 60s make, very close to the ibanez SZ profile if you've tried one.

i'll put up the Edwards ELP 85SD/P review soon but for now, let me just say this about the neck- if you are expecting a repro of either Gibson make (50s/ 60s), you won't get it from the Edwards. the neck remains slender but chunky enough for a good grip; the manufacturer has no obligations to mimic the Gibson specs.
IMO the neck was conceived to be so, to balance out the overall mass of the guitar which is very PRS in nature 8)

haha, well I wouldnt be convinced unless I see one for myself. the DM-2 is like my ultimate GAS-ed boss pedal. too bad the price is a real turn off.
