Boutique Gear: When did you fall for them?

Wow @ the MI TubeZone 8O I'm loving the sound samples. It sounds like something i really need; hi-gain to blues overdrive by only reducing the guitar volume. I'm almost sold  And i love what brett garsed wrote about his sound clip with the TubeZone

Any variation in tone or gain is created purely by the hands.....

Argh this thread is giving me GAS

Tube Zone outta stock, think will be in in the next month or so, the maker says hes getting stock for it soon. Ehh how much did u get the chillipicoso for??
Wakemeup carries them right?

Shit too much gas, ordered a timmy, ordered a crunch box.... now i feel like a picoso.. this has got to stop......

i listened to those sound clips on MI Audio's site... the clip on how the Tubezone retains the individual tone of each pickup combination really shows off its capabilities... and how the tone can shift from metal to blues just by using the guitar's vol knob! fantastic stuff...

hey ciel, u emailed MI Audio abt availability of the Tubezone? i also feel like placing an order for it when it's in stock :D

No the maker posted on thegearpage that hes gettign parts for it soon. i only ordered the crunch box form the site. Emailed him regardign my order, was damn quick to reply too.

Actually, any good pedal should be able to do the above... with the exception of those (actually, some only) with corpious amounts of gain.

You sound like me when I first played Malcom's Skreddy Screwdriver and the Tonefactor Hellbilly... Couldn't stop gushing about them pedals... never played anything like that before. :D

Truth be told, pedals like these are designed to respond like a tube amp. Quite a number of makers out there do have pedals that works this way too, the list goes on....

Anyway, for those who had just jumped on the MI Audio bandwagon....what/why really convinced your purchase?

From the backlog of most threads, most of the ppl here are fast to fads and there's a trend. Wouldn't elaborate more but it's a funny situation down here

IM REALLY PISSED.

FELLOW MUSICIANS, WASTING MONEY ON BOOTIKEE GEARS, DO U THINK THAT YOUR TONE IS BETTER IN ANYWAY? LET ME REMIND YOU ALL, NO NO NO. STOP BEING SUCH A SORRY ASS AND INDULGE IN TONES, TWEAKING, IF U CAN PLAY , U CAN PLAY LOR.

PPL PLAY BUILT IN DISTORTION OUT OF AMPS, CAN SHRED BETTER, N TONE IS HEAPS SUPERIOR THAN ALL YOUR SORRY ASSED BOOTIKEE PEDALS LA.

I HAVE NOTICED ALSO, MR DHALIF (BOSS DS) VS SHRIEKCOW (BOOTIKEE), NOT MUCH TONE DIFFERENCE LOR. BOOTIKEE MY HEAD. SIMILARLY BOYS OUT THERE, YOUR TONES ARE VERY MUCH DEPENDABLE ON THE FINAL RECOEDING DEVICES U USE.

STOP LYING TO YOURSELVES THAT THIS PEDAL GOOD, THAT PEDAL GOOD. F YOU ALL P***IES , PEDAL WHORES!!!!

CARPE DIEM

well i havent yet jumped onto the MI Audio bandwagon, and to me it's not a trend thing either

Mi Audio is one of the boutique brands that comes with good recommendations, AND is relatively affordable compared to other exotic brands. that's why i'm thinking of trying one for myself.

sure there are alot of other good (read: more obscure) boutique pedals around, but i dont think i'm prepared to fork out 300 usd just yet for a pedal.

Hey when you are abt to order, could you drop me a PM? I might want to get 1 too...

MrE: I hope no offense, my question was directed to most of the softies here :)

Shredcow: Subdecay Black Star, wicked. But so many od/dist to try.......ill go snoop around for chorus/vibes to play with first hur hur

hey Edo, I've got the Boss CE2 rem? You wanna drop by and check that out someday?

Getting it modded for a more deep, lush chorus.

Them CE2 and CE3 are apparently really good. I dont' know abt choruses, but Randolf holds them in very hi esteem. Something about how the pedals' chorus circuit was a copy of the Roland JC amp's one.

Expensive pedals deserve expensive paintjobs. Collecting pedals is like collecting paintings. They are useless but they make you happy :D
