Battle Of Mumbai..Your thoughts..

First of all, condolensces to those who lost their love ones in Mumbai. The people behind the attack will be condemned by the Lord that's for sure.

That's some fine information shared by our bro fuzztremecho!! And yes, Israel is land for the Jews(Bani Israel) founded by Moses which was also stated in the Torah(Taurat), Bible(Injil), Psalm(Zabur) and Koran(Qur'an).

People have been killing people even in the earlier times. Unfortunately, for personal gain and reasons. Those people seemed to mask their intention for the sake of religion.

bro wasp..

must understand in this kinda situation..allow them to grief with dignity..the last thing a bereaved family need is we here in soft discussing this and that, why what and where..how..etc etc..

there is a place and a time for things..

Yep but I thought rottenramone was referring to the media when he said respect the family..maybe we are on a different wavelenght?haha.

India Home Minister resigned.

..."Home Minister Shivraj Patil said he took "moral responsibility" for the assault by heavily-armed Islamic militants which left nearly at least 172 people dead and transformed parts of Mumbai into a war zone for three days...."

We must all admit that in some religious educations, "Infidels" mean those who are not the same religion, irregardless of whether you are a criminal or a good person who love the family and help society. And Killing 'infidels' pleases a greater being and secures a place in heaven.

You a terrorist? Ignorant fool.

Hey guys chill on martel man. Maybe what he is trying to say is:

The terrorists believe that killing an 'infidel' pleases God. Maybe he isn't saying that is what he believes, he could just be stating the terrorists' POV.

Afterall so many of these terrorists are brought up with this mentality drilled into their heads. For them to think otherwise could be compared to us thinking that walking around naked in public places is widely accepted. Nothing can be blamed on solely one entity.

He DID say "in some religious educations". Though he hasn't pointed out to any, even if it is true, doesn't mean he condones it.

Friends

bro martel's viewpoint can be seen as insensitive or flawed but in the context of the Islamic faith is concerned..there is some truth in it.

There is the main 4 schools of Thought within the Islamic community..and by this I mean the 4 schools of Thought within the Sunni Muslim community..

Then there is another camp within Islam- the Shia' Muslims..of which Iran has the majority of followers..of which there are 12 different styles of branches..

the basic difference is that the Shias' totally reject the idea of the Prophet's friends..Abdullah, Umar and Usman as caretakers of the Islamic governance after the Prophet's passing. They are the first 3 caliphs. Instead they believe that the Prophet's son in law, Ali , as the rightful heir and some branches even elevate the status of Ali to that of the Prophet...this is still a touche issue among the 2 main camps even to this very day..

So...even within the 2 camps..accusations were hurled that 1 camp is infidel and vice versa..and yes..the very word "Assassin" is originally an Arabic word referring to a group of trained mercenaries who smoked hashish-a kind of pot/weed..to do the killings..

This senseless act of cowardice sickened me to my stomach...an onslaught on civilians..non-combatants most of them..by youths potraying themselves as mujahedeens..all in the name of jihad...

Jihad or not, what scares me about this scenario is not that it's about religion, or how far religious beliefs can take the human hand. Religion is but one reason to carry out such actions. Any other reason would still have been able to push such forces into play.

What scares me about this is actually the scale of the attacks, and how they managed to pull it off. This was a well thought out plan, well executed and horribly solved. The Indian authorities were obviously incapable of handling a situation like this. I doubt any other nation could have handled it much better unless they had a full fledged team of counter terrorists constantly trained. There are only a FEW countried in this world who have that capability, and at this point, only the british SAS and the US Special Ops teams come into mind. After Sept 11, it's odd that so much was spent worldwide on the offensive front, but so little on the defensive front. These Terrorists were most certainly NOT a small bunch of rabble with low tech capabilities. They had funding, they had training, and they had purpose. That's the WORST kind of terrorist to have.

Yet, with all the money the US Govt and the British Govt and even ours has spent on intelligence, how did such a large and capable force escape detection? These guys came by BOAT! They sauntered into the hotels and otehr places of prominence undetected! The AK47s were bought off the black market! With who's money????

That's the scary bit. As much as we try to hunt these groups down, there will always be those who want to do things, and those who are prepared to do. What scares me is that at this point they can't even confirm who their backer is!

This is precisely the scary scenario that Tom Clancy wrote about in "Rainbow Six". Damn...

TERRORIST BUSTER

bro whitestrat..

nice input..couldn't have said it better myself.

part of the terrorist's training is inclusive of a daily dosage of Hollywood blockbusters..movies such as the Die Hard series,Black Hawk Down etc..these movies were carefully studied in detail on the plannings, which are meticulous by the way, and using different scenarios and different game plans...

the Mumbai crack commandos who lost their lives were not junior officers..they were
senior officers who had served with distinction for India..this is one of the scary part..

the terrorists knew who to take out...

Yes... But I can't help but feel that if something like that happened here, I think the outcome might have been a little different. I hope.

Fighting terrorism should never have been an offensive battle. Waging wars and attacking countries holding them achieves only a small effect. In the bigger picture, it hardly does anything other than steal precious lives and incur more of the terrorists' wrath and then determination for revenge.
