alcohol

ok ok...

ah.... i got a random question for everyone who tried it or drink it everyday...

why do u buy the drinks?
- to drink (like beer thinghy)
- to 'feeling' like drinking
- or wat?

i saw a few guys who bought like a few cans ard my area, sat at the park chilling.
i know 1 of them... talk talk n i asked the question...
they answered, coz we want to look cool drinking...

lame...lol

jolly shandy is a NICE and refreshing drink.

seriously i cant believe anyone gives a crap abt its alcohol content. i'd drink it regardless of whether theres alcohol or not.

maybe they should put a label for jolly shandy drinkers...

"don't drink 10 jolly shandy and drive, it makes up to a tiger and 5.5 litres of liquid in ur stomach. do ur math."

10 times 0.5% times 330ml is still 0.5%.
Despite what it may think it wants to be, a jolly shandy can never measure up to a tiger :(

the .5% should give non-drinkers a slight boost, alcohol is sometimes used in small amounts in energy boosting drinks.

does tis rule ever bein understood at the first place? i mean like ok, they promoted it so well, non alcohol etc... can muslims drink it?

The thing is, there are quite a number of foods that are not classified as non-permissible to Muslims (not haram) that contains a little alcohol, many a times a result of natural fermentation.

One of them is tapai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tape_(fermented_food) although I am not sure if it is popular in Singapore but I have heard of it before.

I think, there's no mystification behind the alcohol rule. It's more of the intention behind it.

With a certain amount of alcohol consumed, which leads to your mind being altered, coupled with some intentions that are harmful - people do things that hurt others.

Of course, sometimes there is no intention. Like drink driving and killing somebody accidentally in the process.

bro hecklerkoch...

ur words to cheem liao for me. but i think i understand...

If you say 'approved' as in approved by MUIS, that Muslims are allowed to consume it - I am not sure because the drink is not labelled as 'halal' by MUIS but drinks rarely have this official label anyway because there is quite a clear distinction between alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic ones.

After all that is said and done, in the end it is a personal choice bro.

Don't worry about it.

You know you should read it up, the amount of damage drinking does to your body FAR outweighs that done by smoking. Damn jialat.

boon boon..no need to ask leh.just tagak okay.
hahaha but the most important is chicken rice okay.

chicken rice a day keeps the doctor away.

the .5% should give non-drinkers a slight boost, alcohol is sometimes used in small amounts in energy boosting drinks.

What matters is the absolute amount of alcohol drunk, not the strength.

1 can tiger @ 5% = 16.5ml of alcohol
10 cans Jolly @ 0.5% = 16.5ml of alcohol

Of course, this is theoretical. Nobody would drink 10- cans of Jolly because you'd be sick from the liquid volume before the alcoholic effect became worthwhile. I don't drink it to get high (I choose beer or something stronger for that). I drink it because it is very refreshing.

the lychee flavour is nice... haha.. in 7-11, it says jolly shandy is under non-alcoholic category... but is damn ex lo.. the big gulp is like 1.60 then jolly shandy 350ml is 1.20bucks...-.-
