A NEW transparent Booster? (With pic)

On it not being a good distortion pedal... how does it function as an OD? I gotta try this with my bass man :p

Edder: The high input impedance... does it only load the pups if it's the first pedal in the chain? My first pedal is an Ehx Whitefinger (I think the dude sent it to you for TB modding) and I'd like to keep it that way so the dynamics *after* the compression (ya I know it doesn't make sense but bear with me) can still be heard.

Well, overdriving itself, not touching the amp at all, think along the lines of a very raw, flat sounding crunch/breakup kind of tone. Raw being the keyword.. like a Boss SD1 with the tone max kind of raw.

I prefer putting your fave OD pedal into the efx loop, then allowing the DB-2 to boost it for more gain (pre) or for more volume (post)...

Erh... I like the crunch and breakup but not the tone on max :( So if I put my Sparkle Drive in the loop then it'd sound good?

P.S. Eh are you by any chance hannah's brother?

You put the Sparkle Drive in the looper, you get to boost the gain or volume or both. The DB-2 will just pump in more gian before or/and after the Sparkle Drive...

Yeap, I am hannah's brother... and you are?

if you are using the booster at unity level or slightly boosted and you like what it does to your guitar sound then use it first followed by the compressor.

if you are doing some heavy boosting, i'd suggest that you put it after your compressor. you don't want your compressor to overload and becomes and overdrive.... but then... maybe that might be what you want.

no rules boss... throw away your rules when it comes to effect placement.

Eh... no.. the last time I did that with a Warwick, I overloaded the comp so much that the PSU started smoking O.o

It still works fine right now, though.

I see.

Ah yeah, she is a tough cookie when it comes to music and her opera vocals (in training).

Eh, abt the compressor... put it into the efx loop of the DB-2 lah! 27dB boost into the comp and then another 27dB after it can be a good thing for solo spots! Think fireworks... or maybe.. a tiny fizzle and silence.

this one citrus

Comp into booster ... sits right at the end of my pedal line and does the job.
Tried heaps ...built my own and very happy.
Actually built a couple more ... for frens :)
Why... coz its got bass cut in front and high cut aft ...does the job.

Compressors are good stuff... shouldn't cut up your dynamics too much if used sparingly, and adds in a host of great stuff...

I've not been satisfied with my modded Boss CS-3 lately. Going to be time to go on a Compressor hunt soon.

I prefer to put my compressor before the drive pedals, as close to the first in line if possible, i think it sounds better there... i only put it after if I need to have an even volume when switching from clean to dist etc etc.
