My kind of distortion would be what Randy Rhoads had on the live tribute album but with more bass and a little bit heavier...just a bit.

How to get? When my toto comes in this weekend and I get the Randy Rhoads Marshall stack I'll be sure to tell you!

im into the AC/DC tone. 1 sg 1 marshall and tonnes of energy behind those chords \m/. thats the way i wanna rock and roll!

shreddy, i will take in your highly esteemed pedal at a goot price when you are selling. I will pay extra in form of ds lite extras

Bro goose steady, he is kind enough to share the proto schematic over at diy forums, that one, make me respect him even more!

I will definitely get one from him when its ready!

And for what it is... heh, its of certain characteristic of revered high gain amp, Chug chug territory!

Hi Ized ... if you look at the synonyms for seventh heaven ...there will be ecstasy.;)

The seventheaven goes from clean boost > slight break-up > crunch >chuggs ...boost switch takes it further ....
You can also add your fav boost in front and go crazy:twisted:

F'more with the presence goin into feedback mode gets you the plexi tones !

Cheers...

So what if its a 1k boutique pedal that excites me like a Chinese Soap Opera episode. So what if its some amp that breaks my back and gets me totally not in the mood to play by the time I hit the stage/studio.

I'm rediscovering the joys of playing an amp with it's own gain stage at crunch level, and you can do a lot of dynamics.

Think of an old Fender 6L6 amp, and played at the right volume that the tone, if hit hard enough, breaks up just nicely and very slightly... Nice low gain tone. Then using a GOOD distortion/crunch pedal to increase the gain whenever I want, and as much as I want, on the fly. If this means having to have 3 different distortion pedals in my chain, then so be it. Low gain pedal for the volume boost with a teeny weeny bit of dirt, a mid gain pedal for those 80s hair band solos, and a high gain pedal for metal.

Because the amp isn't clean, there's lost of stuff going on, and it's really fun to work around... Challenging too! Especially if you're trying to play a nice clean solo, and you need to heavily CONTROL your picking... (that's why those V picks don't work for me... heh.)

Come over my place and bring your fav guitar... any weekday between 7 to 9pm.;)

If it's got dynamics, it's something I should like. Even at full gain. PM me your contact ya? I'll look you up when I can... (Baby takes priority for now...):p

Aye - that is one thing many many pedals can't replicate as well... So far I think the closest I ever got from a pedal was the Blackstone.

And eh - V Pick, just pick lighter lah! Aiyo! Fingers too strong ar? Hahahahaha...

Hahahaha... I've found ONE pedal that can do that nicely... Only problem is, I need 3 of those pedals, and they're expensive. MI Tubezone OD. That one is nice to play with. For mid gain, the crunch box is quite nice too, but lacks the oompf that the TZ even at 9V has.

The BD-2 isn't too bad, but not enough crunch, and the bass bits tend to saturate a bit too much and too fast.

Shred...Bring along openhouse + 18vpower adapter.... oso your guitar if possible ...you fellas are wearing out my guitars:(
