Why I still visit soft.com

i think the main reason y ppl would care to b involved in/care to visit soft is because itz a local broad-based music forum

hey bro, to me, the main reason why im not very enthu here is because i felt put down many times, i felt demoralised after posting OM, i felt inferior over here, cos every one has an "I teach YOU" kind of attitude. But i still come cos theres no other local music forum which is active enough.

**Im not saying im beyond correction or what but its just not nice to be "whacked" everytime. Probably ppl here dont mention the better things n only highlight the bad parts, which is why it seems hostile? not sure.

Michaelangelo, if you cant take criticisms then dont post in the OM, you meant you expect people to praise you when theres really nothing to be praised about? I've seen and heard your OM posts, no suprise why you got put dwn. Even so, people gave constructive criticisms and gave you encouragement, what more can you ask for?

as for the bug, yeah it's true but only to a certain extent. i dont click the logout button but the session will expire sooner or later.

remember, as long you're learning and practising, you will improve. if there wasnt much 'bad' highlighted means u did well, i guess 8) 'no news is good news'.

then again, out of all those whackers that whacked your OM, how many genuine players did share solutions/ideas amidst the whacking? take it with a pinch of salt.

i got back in soft for James, he got me on MSN at a time i just resigned as Assistant Game Master for a Korean MMOrpg hehehe. a fulltime musician the last 15 years. i often wind down on the net, while my son is asleep or in school or after a rocking nite at the House of Rock stage.

The one main reason i still visit soft is because ever sicne the first time i came to this forum till today (which isnt a very long period of time) i've learnt a whole lot of new things about music and my instrument which i never knew before. in fact what i've learnt here in a few months is a lot more than what i've been learning in the past few years before i came across the site.

and ofcourse i come here also to get info on gigs and all, but this reason isn't so valid now since im in NS, so no time to go for the gigs .

the nonsensical posts and comments also give me a real laugh.

Let's put it this way - if you want to criticize/flame/comment etc., be prepared for the same.

One must be able to take sh!t and give sh!t.

As in all forums, there will be disagreements and difference in opinions. Some opinions might be constructive or totally myopic - but wth... that's life!

For those who cause disharmony among members - May they be castrated or rot in front of the computers (Just kidding)!

If a member really has an issue with another, kindly pm the person and settle it amicably like ADULTS. Every one is entitled to their peace.

Problems usually arise when we make comparisons. Then, the disagreements arise. Then, the extremely myopic and heavily opiniated ones make their presence felt. And in no time..... ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!

Dear friend,

If you cannot tahan how we guide or how we want to improve you as a player, please do not post an OM.

If you want just people who say "wow, nice style you have there", "wow, you're a fantastic player", I suggest you don't post here and some other forums. Reason being? We are not listeners or non musician here. We know what is wrong and what is right. If you play well, but with an authentic style, we will comment. If you play bad, + with a weird authentic style, we try to help, and IF like this we still get blamed, I'm telling you man serious you need to review your way of looking at things.

We didn't say, "dude, you suck, please stop playing the guitar". We guide, and showed you ways on how you can improve. I can even dig up threads of your OM if you want and see how people comment. Seriously, we are being nice already, it is not "whacking", it is giving you suggestions.

Then again, ever considered why KILLINGHALL get so nice comments while others don't? Or maybe, you don't? Think again :wink:

Hmm.

I like soft. Good place to meet the good, bad and the ugly.. see many different people and their ideas, learn and understand diff issues from other peoples' perspectives.

One thing tho... some people have bad impression of Soft when it comes to getting bandmembers.. I disagree with them, because sometimes you need to sift through loads of gravel to get that gold nugget.

But overall everyone here is pretty cool. *5000 thumbs up*
