What should I do to support?

My boyfriend, FINALLY, wants to create a band after being away from gigging/jamming for more than 2 years. I'm so excited to see him perform again~

As a girlfriend, what are the other things I can do to support him so he would progress to be a better performer/musician besides the following:
1) Create better space and time for him so he can find inspirations/ideas
2) Understand his busy schedule when he's out rehearsing
3) Always be there for him when he has problem, needs supports, ideas etc..

I mean, what would male musician want his girlfriend to do when he is actively involved in a band.

To all male musicians out there who has a girlfriend but is not doing the right thing to support your progress etc, I'd be happy to hear your comments.

:D Its good to be single.

Haha kidding, yea, as what you listed above, just make sure he doesn't start hitting on every other girl he sees at a gig!

I am~ Thank you. He's going to buy a new guitar to jam soon though. Should I get for him? I know man has such ego that he refuses to let his girlfriend buy something expensive for him, although he has been spending quite a lot on her.. Hmm~

Please introduce him to SOFT, if he isn't already here. We are like the biggest support group for musicians.

you must be really in love with him to the extent that you'd do all this.

i'd support you to support him.

He is "prostcode (previously known as ecko)"! Haha! He's the one who introduced me to SOFT*. See.. He's not even here.. LoL! He'd be surprise when he sees this.. (Hi honey!)

I doubt you should get the guitar for him.. If he doesn't like it (not his preference), it would be difficult for him to sell it off since he doesn't wanna hurt your feelings..

For one, it's best to neither get too involved, or not get involved at all.. Basically must strike a balance lah.. Follow to his jamming sessions once in a while.. Try not to be everytime.. In every relationship, both partners need some alone or 'away' time, and this may be it for him.. However this is how I would like my own gf to do lah, and is different from guy to guy..:mrgreen:

OMG SO TOUCHING!! hahaha.

What you're doing is already so much, but you can always add one more.
4) Attend his gigs whenever you can and support him in the front row :D

What's better motivation than seeing the woman who loves you so much and vice versa headbanging to what you play LOL.

don't buy for him the guitar. man's ego.

buy all other accessories for him tho.. like strings, straps etc.

I know the guitar he's aiming for already..

Even then, no two guitars are the same.. I've tried many Gibson SG Standards, and they are all phenomenally different..

You know something? You can just show him this thread.. He'll be super touched..:mrgreen:

Attend his gigs. Give him your morale support and space when he has jamming with the band. Those are what a music playing guy would ever need from his gf. I'm sure he will love you so much more for the kind of support you give him. :D

well the gf part yr doing super well alr

and the guitar part... i say don't get for him.
1. his ego might be hurt, and he might attempt to pay you back
2. i don't wanna say this la, but it'll be difficult on both of you IF you break up. (sorry to be the bearer of bad news/predictions)
3. ya different guitars have different feels, if he gets it himself he can try it out before he decides to buy.
4. he's alr damn lucky to have such a supportive gf, you don't want him to feel inferior cuz of this.
