Ok then it's PAP's fault that we didn't build from where we left off pre-independence. Think too much about standing on our own without Malaysia or British or whatever colonial help; and the first pursuit was: economy. Culture took a backseat.

A bit hard to turn back now and build from there. Just start with whatever we have now.

haha! Dey, Velvet is good. The old Papa Joe's at Peranakan Place was happening. There's another old one that used to be at Pacific Plaza - can't recall the name. Then there's Liquid Room at Robertson and another one at Clarke Quay (can't recall the name either). The old Fire was also quite good. As was Fabrice at the Marriot.

Me thinks Velvet and maybe Zouk should still do the trick. St James should be fine oso lah. Just avoid SPG & Beng/Lian places.

But to be honest, all of them while quite tasty and trendy just weren't my cuppa those times. RoRK good guy lah. :-D Well, actually there was one Sabah-ian (?) goddess that blew me away - that one RoRK was too weak and she was amazing!!!

As for singlish, again it's annoying for some of us (me included) but hey, if that's what constitutes sexiness to others so be it.

Agreed. I think the Cubans, Brazilians, etc. must be wondering why the world considers their female citizens as anything special. Familiarity breeds contempt (like in our case).
