The SOFT Ramen Addict Thread

Most ramen joints are pretty boring in terms of ambience. The food speaks for itself.

Noodle house ken has a separate dining area away from the kitchen. Cosy and plenty of sake to guzzle one.

Marutama at Central is quite cosy but again nothing much to shout about.

Miharu at Gallery Hotel has a table or two where you can sit barefeet. Again its as good as it gets.

Tom Ton at Central and Tanpopo at Liang Court have decent ambience plus they have a bit more of other kinds of food rather than ramen.

suh-weet!!

Santouka king of the hill lah... this menya shinchan hor so so only but i only went there once. The noodles not firm, the soup not robust enough. Must give chance and ask for "Firm" noodles cos it seems to be an option.

Since the last time i said Santouka is the best, it is still the best. But i have changed my usual shoyu tokusen toroniku to shio permanently.

I have since walked past Ken Ramen several times, been to ichibantei, men tei, and...miharu just this past week to have a bowl of tonkotsu shio. I really don't get the crowd at Marutama, that was the worst ramen i've ever tried out of all i've mentioned above.

No contest really, Santouka is unbeatable. I too have been heading there too many times till i really wanna know if any other joint can beat them.

ramen in singapore is macam some kind of high class cuisine. the real shit in japan starts from ¥200 a bowl and probably tastes better than most of the stuff here. and local ramen probably prepared by some ah tiong trying to act japanese by cooking a dish that actually originated from china.
