Orh... Bie Fu Ramen hah? No lah... standard drop liao... Ken's slays it... It's gotten a bit bland these days, and plenty of china ppl working there as staff, you feel more like in a "La Mian" place than a Ramen place.:D

Thanks to Whitestrat for starting this thread!! You're da man! and edder is the Ramen-Man!

I find Santouka too saltish.

I prefer Miharu.

Went to this place under Republic Plaza on monday - my collegaue had the 'Spicy Ramen' which he said was substandard. I opted for a tonkotsu curry which was excellent.

I've not tried it, so its unfair for me to say yes.... but what the hell, I'm a ramen snob and I say YES!!!! YOU WILL DIE!!! YOU'LL BE CRUSHED LIKE A COCKROACH!!!!

Oh, another shop along railway mall along Bukit Timah, Ramen Ramen, waste time only. But I really like the story behind the shop. Engineer went Japan, fell in love with ramen, quit his job and learn how to make ramen and open shop. The passion. I rikes. The taste... I no rikes.

i remember miharu's saltier but i remember most ramen shops quite hit a miss sometimes with the salt. :P

went to osho at cuppage yesterday. Ho hum. not super or anything but pretty cheap. $14 gets you a bowl of ramen with 6 gyoza. taste wise... ho hum.

Tried Menya Shinchan and was dissapointed. Noodles soggy. Tastewise not here not there but then it could be an off day. i dunno, yet to go back and try again. http://southernoise-gluttony.blogspot.com/2008/12/menya-shinchan.html

No chance to eat at Mentei at all. I tried, parked my bike in the building and was asked to leave the place immediately by the security guards when i got off the lift. A biliion empty bike lots but noooooo.... its for season only. Whats up with CBD and lack of bike lots? dammit. I even offer to pay full car rates but no..... no bikes allowed other than season when there are also a billion empty car lots available. F$$% this close mindedness of policies against bikers.

I love ramen too! Where's a nice place to bring someone for a date to have really good ramen+good atmosphere? :D

Most ramen joints are pretty boring in terms of ambience. The food speaks for itself.

Noodle house ken has a separate dining area away from the kitchen. Cosy and plenty of sake to guzzle one.

Marutama at Central is quite cosy but again nothing much to shout about.

Miharu at Gallery Hotel has a table or two where you can sit barefeet. Again its as good as it gets.

Tom Ton at Central and Tanpopo at Liang Court have decent ambience plus they have a bit more of other kinds of food rather than ramen.
