how about stacked single coils compared to p-90s?
sorry for the noob question, but i never really knew the existence of p-90s until quite recently..

ok here's a serious query.

I wanna swap out my stock CIJ Jazzmaster pickups for perhaps either lindy fralins or curtis novak p90s.

for the genuine-y p90 sound,

a) Which should I go for

b) I know the cavity is different, but if there is a will, there is a way! How do I go about re-routing the electronics and installing the pups?

shooting off my head...

1. check the string spacing between a P90 and your JM pickups. make sure they match or are at least close.
2. buy a new pickguard customised for P90s
3. Get your guitar pickup cavity routed DEEPER cos the P90s are deeper than the JM pickups.
4. good luck
5. i'm sure KC at Maestro can help you with the above.

actually, fk it. i'll just get teh curtis novak p90s for the jazzmaster. no need to change cavity. plus its 85 usd niah. ok set la. :D

sorry dun noe much abt p90's, but have always been planning on getting a jazzmaster and it was quiet a coincidence they had a white one which i truly adore.

i only know one soap bar
and u should never bend to pick it up

that took awhile for me to get. i was actually thinking, ok soapbar pups, soapbar pups.. hmm throw back to those PRS Soapbar SEs?

THEN

soapbar. soap. slippery. damn. haha.

they keyword is the space..

SOAP BAR...

(read: a bar of soap.) its early morning to naturally my brain is still sleeping.

ahhh... then go the curtis novak way. he seems to cater quite a bit for the jazzmaster crowd. Even a Tele bridge style pickup on a jazzmaster form factor. A first man. Nice.

that should be ex-GEM user 8) don't get me wrong, this guitar generates lots of vibe but i just got a sub-standard model during purchase.
