i don't know... somewhere between metal and hard rock? All hope is gone was dissapointing. I prefer their earlier and heavier stuff like Iowa. Volume 3 was alright, but a bit too melodious for my liking.

One thing i'm sure is that there some people who are biased in labelling a band metal when they are barely there... I rather listen to Corey's StoneSour... *Shrugs*
Any listeners of Kataklysm? Think they're quite an underrated death metal band...

This caught my attention for sure...
Finland and Sweden probably are the 2 best countries that produce bands in this category...
Dark Tranquillity represents this genre best, alongside, At The Gates, Eucharist and Unanimated (All from Sweden)
I would like to recommend bands that caught my attention in this genre lately...
Mordium, The Abstract - Both from USA...
In Mourning from Finland...
Insomnium, also from Finland are probably one of the most underrated MDM band around... In my opinion, better than Children of Bodom...

Maybe they don't think that post-metal ain't metal enough for them..
Anyways, since you like Isis, I shall recommend you Supercontinent. They just broke up recently after their album launch last year. But the album was superb.
