i really dont understand when people say that "the older A7X albums are better". from the first time i ever heard any A7X song i've never really understood their appeal. their songs are just.. messy, and the singer just sucks big time.. their only song i can appreciate is Sidewinder in the City Of Evil album.

its not really better per se, but rather totally different styles. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen were metalcore style, compared to their more mainstream and pop-ish albums City of Evil and their self-titled.

for me i prefer their metalcore-era. more "hardcore" (no pun intended) compared to their newer more mainstream stuff.

i find the covers that they do pretty awesome too - Pantera's Walk and Iron Maiden's Flash of the Blade.

I'm not a huge A7X fan, but i like both their old work and their recent work. Don't get me wrong though, i don't think that they're a metal band. But i wouldn't say that they're a bad band either

hahaha to me they are an average band with lots of fanboys! just like slipknot. average band, what makes them LOOK awesome are their fanboys.

heavy metal is the law tat makes us all united free, the law tat shatters earth n hell, heavy metal cant be beaten by any dynasty, we have wizards fighting with our spellls!!!

i sang this line of a song from helloween since i was 12 till now. i totally dig it man lol

Used to be a metalhead at one point. Loved Testament, Krisiun, Judas Priest, etc and hated A7x, BFMV and all those metalcore bands. Now I pretty much like anything with blues influence.

But I still love Testament, they're the band that got me into metal in the first place. I also like Judas Priest and Black Label Society, as well as Ozzy Osborne's newer stuff. Personally I don't like Ozzy's older stuff, except the stuff with Black Sabbath. I'm not a big Iron Maiden fan because I don't like their guitar tone (too weak-sounding, I feel). You might hate me for this but it's my personal preference.

And recently, I've gotten into Mastodon and High on Fire. Really heavy groovy stuff there. I like heaviness more than speed, as you can probably see from my personal tastes.

heavy metal !!!!!

all hail Iron Maiden !!!

been metalhead since sec sch days back then was iron maiden.
but i cant get enough of metal and in dire need of more heavier, brutal bands.lol like the black dahlia murder.
currently digging the sounds of Insomnium, testament, death, dark tranquillity, heaven shall burn, black like vengeance and skeletonwitch.

metal all the way!!!:twisted::twisted:

haha, kind of agree with you on this one,
somehow i always feel that Iron Maiden's guitar sound too thin.
as in it's heavy, but then it's thin.

haha, i can't say i'm a great fan of helloween, but then i've no idea why i've so many of their cds.

haha...i met helloween at their dressing room..

Power metal fans, check out Catharsis, Russian power metal, the album Имаго is brilliant, it's pronounced Imaro, means Image.
