The Bassist's Effects Line Up

In which case my DOD pedal must be helping me regain my past youth. The last time I plugged it in I got asked for ID when buying smokes.

visual sound's route 66 is actually for guitar or bass or both?or any compressor and overdrive can be used for both instrument?

I found that the compressor wasn't quite suited to the higher output of a bass. Squashed and pumped a bit too much. Also the overdrive lops off a bit too muh bottom end a la TS9 style when running with a bass.

hey josh ... what do you use your echo park for? .. experimental or live?

If by "experimental" you mean playing with it in the jamming studio, then yes experimental.. haven't really gotten a chance to use it live yet. I'm also looking at getting an RC-2... 8)

Still waiting for the Woolly Mammoth to arrive though...chances are that it'll come after I enlist :(

Boss LS-2 coming in, and maybe a Zvex Woolly Mammoth 8)
I bought a Godlyke Power Pump for the Bass-Drive and WOW! It really is imposible to overdrive the main channel in comp-cut mode with 18v. Very nice boost.

hardcore bass effects ... i remember seeing one guy .. guitarist i think with two pedal boards of superkicky's length .. =) .. filled with pedals ...

+1 to e earlier comment on onboad DIs colouring tone a bit much.. used to play thru an MXR with the 'colour' thing on... which i like cos it really makes a bass sound like a bass, but takes away a load of mids in the process.

I experience the same mids-loss when I engage the 'colour' button on my MXR D.I.+ too. It takes away the natural bass sound and reduces it's sustain. However, I like the distortion that comes with it.

Can anyone recommend a good distortion pedal to replace the MXR?

Fulltone Bass-Drive or a Modded BD-2 8)

Btw Iverson: The BD-2 was modded by Randolf. Best cleaning-up I've heard in a while :)
