hehe :)

edit: no i didn't buy this! Sorry dexian :P

well.. i like the dynacomp, its only got two knobs so it's ideal for a quick fix. and i chose the dynacomp over the supercomp because.. 'if its not broken, why add another knob?'

the comp smoothens out my playing i guess, a more even attack.. specially when you're doing a fast line or fill, evens out the peaks in your signal (for me at least). i also like it with slap, even though i don't slap much *clack*!!

so yeah, on the downside, at the higher sensitivities, it does tend to get a little noisy, but i don't use that much compression anyhow.. so i'm just happy with my current setting, first time playing with a compressor, i dunno if i'll ever need to get a multi-band comp. maybe when my ears are more tuned to nitpick that elusive bass tone -)

Have you? I tried it once and didn't like it :? Too squashed sounding for me, no matter how I tried.

actually no leh ... hahahah .. i was checking out the 2-band compressors that's available and i've found that ... cheaper alternative to the EBS Multicomp

Well.. if you go down to Sweelee they might let you try if they're feeling nice :)

The most natural 2-band compressor I've used is the one in the Trace Elliot SMX preamp. I believe it's available in a pedal form, but I'm not too sure on that. That one really tightened up the tone for me.

Edit: Yes there is!

Hi there,

Need some help here. Does the items listed below selling much cheaper in Japan or in the U.S? My neighbour might be going to L.A soon and I was thinking would it be cost effective to buy them off the shelves in the U.S.(He's willing to bring them in for me but Im gonna give him some "transportation and coffee money" as a good gesture of course)

Hey.. need your opinions.

THinking of getting a compressor. Any reccomandations? How's the EH White Finger, Aphex Punch Fac and MXR Super/Dynacomp?

And for overdrive... tried the Boss ODB and it's a bit too overdriven/muddy for my liking. imho, it sounded like the distortion was riding on my bass notes, instead of sitting right into it. Unless i wasn't using it right =)

Was thinking of the Boss BD-2 (not the keeley ones... no $$.. yet ). ANyone tried it b4? or any reccomandations?

EBS Multicomp! avid supporter of EBS products ... EH stuff are great too ... you can try the Black Finger if you want some hardcore studio compressor ... superkicky has the White Finger .. can check with him how is it ...

btw ... i managed to get my octabass on recording ... full length song written for a short film ... will post it up once i get it mastered and mixed down .. =) then you can hear it in action ...

Figure it'ld be more appropriate to post here.
Swee Lee BB still has a CE-2B for sale, which is no longer in production. I just got mine this aftertoon. really sweet chorus pedal. Exin shld know that :)
