The Bassist's Effects Line Up

..

u talking abt new or 2nd hand?

an internet search may help as all sites varies. u cld check on some la based stores with websites and email.

EBS and Sansamp are US brands, so you may as well buy them where they're made. Boss may or may not be cheaper from Japan, but they're generally more expensive in the US than they are here.

Ok! Have everything now except my loopers from Ark, which will come after BMT :|

that thing looks like it could take more than the pedals you mentioned man. i think 20 would be a modest estimate. looks like something for a post rock band's guitarist.

mine held 13-14 (including a moogerfooger) + voodoo lab pedal power + 2 moog expression pedals and tap tempo switches..and had space left over

josh, i think you should buy a looper and a foot synth controller :D

HOLY CRAPPAGE. Where did you get that monster? Any chance you know where i can find something really small? Like to hold 4-5 pedals?

check out the cnb-ish (i'm not sure what brand they are) cases at ranking sports. the silver ones next to the black road cases. should be good for up to 6-8, depending on your cabling, and the smaller one is only $80 :)

effects man

haaa..i simply use the pod xt live bass and digitech whammy, and a boss volume pedal..to make a double bass sound..

Wow! How does it sound? With your pbass especially...

I dunno yet! I can't test it out because I'm in the US with no amp right now.

Maybe I should get that headphone amp...

Yup :D That's why I'm considering getting the headphone amp so I can plug in here... other than that, short of finding a Talkbasser who's willing to let me go over, I'm out of options.

Erm guys I don't know how to search within a thread, so I think I'll ask this question and hope that it hasn't been asked before. Do any of you guys have the Hartke Bass Attack? How does it do to give the bass more punch ?

I'm looking for a quality yet lowly priced pedal which would give me this enhancement in the sound ( I know it's kinda stringent, but I'm saving for my MIJ Fender P', after having a look at 3notesabar's collection! ). Thanks in advance for any help on this. :D

ask Z3r0_G ... he has one ...

I owned one before selling it and buying a Boss Bass EQ... if you're looking for something that shapes your tone and adds some warmth to it, go right ahead because for the price, it's pretty damn good. Don't use it for distortion though... gets pretty buzzy.

Personal experience: I got fed up with the knobs and just bought the EQ pedal... you might end up with the same too, I dunno.

Oh yeah before i forget..if you intend to buy a Sansamp bass driver DI NEW. As in around 300 bucks...My personal take is, buy the programmable one. Its avaliable at Esden Trading at $324. Not much bigger, but 3x times the flexibility if you know what i mean.

The only thing i dislike about the DI is...that the buffer is somewhat a treble killer. Takes away the slapperholic in me. Not that its a bad thing, but i know that i won't feel like slaping and popping when the time calls for it. So.. i hope this dosent apply to you and your P bass. :) Gd luck.

yea. hartke is great for the price..

but if you're looking for great punch and tone, i'd rather the sansamp. comparable to the hartke but the former wins hands down.

Sansamp has one big downer for me: it colours my tone a lot. There's a very noticeable mid-scoop (for me, at least) when I kick it in. This usually makes your bass sound punchier and all that, but lately I've been leaning towards preamps/effects that let my normal bass tone through... I'll probably get a Boss EQ pedal with sniper mod if I want to do post-efx shaping. All things said though, it's a pretty damn good pedal, and I wouldn't mind getting it again later on.
