The Bassist's Effects Line Up

i've heard that the OC-2 > OC-3. and there are lots of OC-2s on ishibashi. or maybe try and see if anyone around here is willing to sell theirs?

OC-2 is discontinued but still appears frequently on eBay, Talkbass classifieds as well as on the Buy/Sell here. Many regard the OC-2 higher than the OC-3.

going to the ishibashi u-box is dangerous... while the imported stuff is expensive, the local brands are really cheap. and the service is excellent; their english u-box site was updated not too long ago. previously it was software translation

hey guys~

went to check out the shops and try pedals today :D

nice pedals everywhere, lovely tones and then.................. reality hits me................ price is really an issue~!! haha

reserved myself a korg pitch black and bought a BYOC Analog Chorus

tested the Boss CE-2B as well. sounds great, very warm. However the effect isn't very noticeable on the lower notes. The BYOC was thicker and more lush, loved it. :)

kinda shocked how much some pedals can cost. haha.. now i get what y'all mean by burning holes in pockets.

EBS and Analogman prices are nuclear bombshells~

if EBS and Analogman are nukes, then Landgraff must be armageddon or something.

thankfully bassists don't have to spend on pedals as much as guitarists do.

yea thankfully. haha

so i think i will be going for budget effects that sound good. :D

any suggestions for drive and compressors like that??

the mxr super comp is pretty affordable but how does it fair??

well some pedals in SG are overpriced. go visit tonefactor.com or proguitarshop.com to get an idea of US street prices.

mxr super comp is decent, but there will be a little bit of noise. it's supposed to be based on the ross. there are other ross clones out there like the keeley and barge. i'm using the barge rc-3 now, its very very quiet and uses high quality components... at the fraction of the cost of a keeley. barge also has an internal bass switch.

there are other compressors but these are closer like-for-like comparisons

I love the BYOC chorus.... modded it for bass too.

here... and there... but where???

eh if you could do some mini review of that thing in laymans terms so we know what exactly it does it would be fantastic. although i currently do not and hope not to GAS for eventides...

i searched youtube for Eventide Pitchfactor demo. all i can say is
