you could try getting your ds1 modded. i agree its an excellent pedal. but some detest the pedal as you can see from the thread one man cup of tea might not be the other's.

Yeah i definitely agree. No arguments about that. It is a decent pedal, I loved it for what it was back then, hence i used for 2 years before switching.

Add to the list the dd-3. hated the metallic sheen it added to my tone.

Actually, come to think of it, most boss products aren't to my liking. Only my Eh-2 and my modded ds-1 is still surviving in my collection. Part of the learning process i guess. Though i wish it wasn't that expensive.

Heh...I'm still using Metal Zone as a booster/alternative distortion alongside my RAT2 even when it's cracking a bit due to its beat-up condition :lol: It functions like an EQ with gain boost *lol* Not even Randolf-modded yet or anything *lol* Perhaps I might consider it when the pedal breaks down...

I think for me, the pedal that I kinda regretted getting is the BOSS OS-2 Distortion/Overdrive. Both functions are mediocre-sounding to me :/ Even as a boost. It's up for grabs! Anyone? :lol: hahah

Hahah! No lah...where got explosive? *lol* Maybe feedback only ah! :lol: But frankly, depends on how high level of gain you set on both pedals...cos my main sound is using RAT2's overdriven sound (at most all knobs at 12 o'clock), the Metal Zone's gain is around 9 o'clock or something so as not to add too much gain till it feedbacks...

These days, I might contemplate on a tubescreamer to do the boosting...haven't had a chance to try though...
