tattoos effects on your life?

im still studying in poly, so im thinking of getting a couple of tattoos. but my friend kinda said that if you have tattoos, high chances of getting rejected from goverment job? and he also say NS they will be like predjudice against you.

anyone got idea how true are these?

i just know people look at you differently and judge you... I have piercings but not tattoos and i get condemned quite abit. Don't really care though...

even as a person with tattoos, i'd say get it only if you're pretty much bent on not working for the government, and office job as well.

it's still pretty f*cked up how our society now sees people with body mods. it's digusting, really. people automatically associate people with body mods to be bad people. really, i find it really terrible. people here need to grow up, seriously.

as for me, i don't really care though. i'd rather die than work in an office with 9-6 hours. and definitely not gonna work for the government. on top of that, i don't care what people think of me.

so unless you are pretty damned sure of what you wanna do, don't get a tattoo.

maybe the conservative people see it as why would you guys wanna spend good money to inflict unnecessary pain?

Hey buddy. actually tatoos are very nice forms of art. just that nowofdays alot of gangsters have it on thier bodies and therefore tatoos seem to be ''Bad'' to society. I had my first tatoo when i was in sec2 cause my very close fren had 1. lolx but trust me its not worth it. you'll regret it someday. now im only 17 and im regretting it. =/ and yes sad to say if u put them on ur legs or arms where poeple can see them, it does give a bad impression to the public. so u should really think hard be4 u wanna put 1. dont follow the flow but be true to your self. thats all i have to say =D

well, realistically, tattoos are still a social stigma in singapore. probably stemmed from the early days when ah longs roamed the streets of Singapore...

OT a bit... does anyone here watch miami ink? i love that show. Other reality shows like survivor and apprentice, where people watch to see others getting put down, is getting rather tasteless. Miami ink's pretty much about moving on in life, and that's very refreshing.
