it boils down to personal preferences, yes?

I was never a scooped mids fan regardless of the music genre I play. this is the reason why i'm not keen on pedals devoid of a midrange control 8)
 
devoid of midrange control = devoid of the authority to manipulate your tone = frustration. acquiring a pedal is about you sounding like how you want it to be, not how the manufacturer wants you to be...

-> Godspeed: not really, i own Dan E's Black Coffee- no midrange control here... same goes for my Behringer Pre-amp booster 8)
 
ehx metal muff - its simply awesome. Nice tone good tight (toit) :D distortion. but do try the Boss ML-2 metalcore cuz the distortion is thick and heavy but the pedal is extremely quiet (no huming sound like the MT-2)
