before i say anything, i'm not any sly fan nor am i connected to him.
i watched e show too and i heard sly say something tt goes like "this song isnt really arrange by me". I guess u guys got e wrong impression coz e mc kept repeative asking sly " hey how possible did u arrange e classical piece to such a rock version" Just think if u r in his shoe, u need 2 perform infront of the nation tv and you cant just pull off with something simple rite? and when your skill isnt really great, you as a celebrity needs and have to be humble. Unless u decides 2 kill ur own job :lol:
i do love his guitar! i told myself when i saw it, damn he made it 2 afford 1 and i 1 2 be able 2 afford 1 too! its never a waste for him to use that axe. why? because i ever saw an uncle bought a jem777 and he brought to sweelee to set his axe. He totally destroy the setting of the bridge and the pups level is way off! he was merely playing some chords and i guess that axe never made its way to the spot lights and stage.. Worse, those collectors out there most prob juz buy the guitar because it looks damn nice and their idols play it!Those guitar normally ends up in guitar hard casing in mint condition ready for resale when the owner lacks of fund! A guitar is made for the stage! this i must say, sly's bad horsie jem did it. the setting was alrite(from tv view). So you still think that guitar is a waste on his hand? i think that guitar had a gd owner that brought him 2 the big stage at least once!
About his skill, yeah i got to agree with you guys he aint good. But hack! he got the gutz to pull of those fancy tricks infront of the nation tv knowing there are much better guitarist that cant afford his axe! Do you have the balls to do tt? its nt easy for a vocal to go into guitaring in such short time n i think he did a great job.
After viewing the show,i'm very sure there are alot of ppl that's going to shoot his performance. Why? Human's standard reaction is to pick on ppl's mistake but never do they try doing that on themself.. i'm not trying to b noble or something. Mayb those who say he sucks, make ur way as a celebrity 1st n tell it infront of his face den. That will be cool! :wink:

i think not every guitarist in the world play for an audience or on stage. its not very fair to say someone's not worthy of a guitar just because he plays a simple 3 chord song or that he collects it and keeps it in a humidity controlled room in its case forever. Granted instruments are made to be played, how they are played, who plays it and however it is used is up to the owner itself. point is don't judge. i've seen old uncles playing expensive guitars like PRS, Gibsons, Taylors, Suhrs, Andersons, Fender CustomShops. Can they play as well as (fill in the name of whoever)? definately not, but what fuels them is the passion, to just play for self-pleasure, as a hobbyist or to just have a pretty guitar hanging up the wall.
If I'm not wrong, the gear that he had on stage was probably loaned/sponsored by an external company (perhaps to get on the credits list? :wink

Seriously though, I doubt the gear was his own, since he has an Epiphone Zakk Wylde sig that he's like desperate to show off, given that he's already appeared in several ads with it
