Firebreather my man....totally agree with u abt the fat neck of the specials, u can get massive tone.......totally dig it since my sg special has the too keke "baseball bats" some call it.........although there r many out who disagrees and swear by the slim taper necks.

Everdying: Nope no other routing just the stock route for the P-90, took the guard out not too long ago to clean it and I thought to myself the exact same thing, what a waste to not show more wood but I'm a strange person and I think it somehow fits nicely with all the lack of eye candy going on. Side note - I'm getting annoyed with all that 60 cycle from the P-90 so when I route it out for a humbucker I'm going to stomp on the P-90. Gaah!

Godspeed64: Thanks Godspeed!, I really like the simpler things these days. There are all kinds of combinations with SGs too so I'm betting you'll find your right one soon :] if you need help feel free to drop me a PM. I guess they're just under appreciated because to a lot of people the Les Paul/Strat/Tele will always be the more definitive axe of choice while the SG is a more modern classic? & they'll say that the classics never go out of style.. blah. But I started with the SG and will end with the SG :] It's all about finding the right axe.

MrBukka: It gets easier to save when you start working, hang in there!, I realize with SGs - because everything is so thin, at the expense of tone something needs to be compromised and in the most cases with SGs you can't really give at any other part of the axe because everything is already paper thin so it's almost always a chunk of neck. The slim taper necks are f'kn comfortable to play don't get me wrong but they never sound like how I picture SGs to sound in my head. Neck diving and a weak joint is the downside to this but they've fixed the latter, vintage Jr.s however, you got to be a little more careful.

it is so easy to play, and sounds damn cool for rhythm tracks.

Try the epiphone? Dude I only bring my Gibbie to studios cause the Epi is toooooo heavy, what more a double neck epi.. It looks good though, carried one before, but didnt bother to try it.. A lil too heavy for me! :mrgreen::mrgreen:

the epi is not that heavy.
but once its in the hardcase, friggin hell

also due to the weight of the double neck, it gets the 6-string closer to LP territory.

Plus the effects I use.. Can die T_T

yea...more bottom end due to the weight.
its actually much heavier than the gibby LP i once had.

the body of the double neck also resonates very nicely, very nice unplugged tone on the 12-string.

oh yea, if ur going to get a double neck...and need a car...get one with 4 doors or a SUV.
the case will not fit into the boot of a regular car, has to go into the backseat

softcase for it? thats asking for trouble.
the hardcase is about 5" longer than another rectangular one i have...and of cos definitely much wider.

and michael angelo? he of cos pays ppl to carry them for him

That's true.. I don't get double necks at times..
This Epi I understand; 1 sports a 12-string, another a 6-string, hence the different tones..
Rosli Mansor's axe; 1 sports a fretless, another the normal fretted..

But 4 necks?!! Maybe different pickups or smth, or different gauges, or tunings, but heck they look/sound identical on some videos..

Yours was bought off ebay is it? Btw everdying bro, what amps do you plug your babies into?
And any effects as well? Interested to hear about your rig! :mrgreen::mrgreen:

amps...thats another thing i dont get with ppl having full stacks in their house.
unless ur house is wembley stadium, then there really is no point.

i only have a small amp, kustom tube12.
thinking of getting the epi valve junior combo next.
i also dont like multi-effects anymore, just my guitar and a cable is all i need.
and for practice i use headphones with my korg pandora px4.

the rest of my under utilised effects consist of just distortion/overdrive pedals.
boss mz-2, mt-2, bd-2, sd-1, and a behringer gdi21.

oh yea, i also got a cool fender '57 mini twin.
