Mine!

Its an Epiphone Faded G-400.. Modded to Mighty Mite Vintage Buckers (coil tapped) and Gotoh hardware, skillfully set up and prepared by Beez! :D

The finish is not that bright actually.. Its much much darker, just that the camera flash makes it stand out more..

how does the p90's sound? say compared to a single coil

i HEARD that it generates alot of hum like single coils; is that true?

Thread revival! Anyone with an SG Classic?
Still wondering if I should get one of these..
The fact that it's discontinued is causing me to think deeper!

Thread revival part 2!

My SGs!

the one on the left...
a epi faded? good thing u got one b4 they lost the fretboard binding.

oh yea, i got a SG Classic :P

Yeah.. The Epi faded is still a pleasure to play nowadays.. Fatter sounding and loves fuzz!
The Gibbie is more of an OD/mild fuzz kinda guy, better for blues..

I was GASsing for a Classic up until I got the Standard! Thanks for all your help dood! (I PMed you a lot regarding this).. Tried a few Standards, but I settled for this one.. A pre-2000 piece which feels worlds apart from the other Standards I've tried!

And bro Everdying, you should try the Gibson-of-the-week SG Standard with 3 single coils.. Nice tone; not very SG, but a good tone in itself (definitely not Fender sound as well).. Almost bought that one!

actually another one that i want is the SG-3, the one with 3 humbuckers.
'57 classic+ and dual '57 classics...how much better can it get...
plus has a 60s slim taper neck...
its more '61 reissue than standard...and at the same price as the standard...such a good value.

only drawback to me is the weird chicken knob selector...but that can be replaced with a trad toggle anyway.

Yeah.. Like the SG version of a Black Beauty..
Edwards has something similar to that as well, as in 3 hums..

The chickenhead knob is on the single coil SG.. You're referring to it being on the SG-3 too?

And for more info, I tried the single coil SG at Blackwood Guitars in Singapore.. The pickup wiring was changed to give wicked combinations, sometimes sounding even fatter than humbuckers, and at other configs almost a perceptive twang was heard..

im also still contemplating ordering a stewmac neck-thru and mahogany body blanks...total cost USD350.
the neck-thru is maple 25.1" scale with ebony board.
then i worry about the body routing later :P

i wanna do something like this.

i've also gotten someone here who brings in those fake gibson guitars to contact the factory to get me a quote on making that...it better be cheaper than the stewmac option :P

here are my requests to them.
1. maple neck-thru (very important).
2. 24-fret ebony fretboard.
3. mahogany body.
4. flame maple top.
5. 24.75" scale length.
6. side input jack les paul style.
7. see-thru black finish so can see wood grain.
8. all black hardware.
9. 2 holes for 1 volume / 1 tone.
10. put no electronics or pickup...i will use my own.

the serial number i will put my birthday...pretty demanding rite :P
