For my birthday this year my friends pooled money and got me 6 packs of different coloured dr xtralife strings from Davis.
Mix em up and you get rainbow!
Did you get the full story behind it? someone asked if it was my guitar of if it belonged to Gibson and he went on about how i shouldn't post it up and about how sad it was. That wasn't right.
Djthugs - I've read a couple of your replies and they're not very humble either , especially the part where you dissed the endorsement saying that you own them with your cash. I'm afaid there will always be bigger fish in the water my friend, no matter how much we buy we still will get out done by someone, i like to take out guitars so i know what to get and at least i know what that particular model is all about. I don't own as many boutique items as you bro , haha i simply can't afford them so whats the issues? if you don't like it then yeah fine but keep that to yourself.

Feels and sounds worlds apart!
Firstly, the 61 reissue is an adaptation of the les paul, meaning the les paul was directly tweaked upon (by removing the curves).. So naturally the 61 is A LOT heavier IMO.. There is naturally more lower end response coming out of the 61, more reminiscent of an LP, but with lesser bottom end and more focused mid-highs..
The Standard has more emphasis on the highs and mids, and sounds in a way more "crunchy" to me.. Also, there's a certain "snap back" kinda feeling, a certain amount of twang if I might say in the Standard I own.. The other Standard's I've tried didn't have this though..
Neck wise, I feel that the Standard is more comfy.. I remember bro everdying saying that the Standard has a fatter neck if I'm not wrong.. I insisted that the 61 has a fatter neck, probably because it gets fatter at the top (how I place my thumb).. You can think of it like Clapton's V-neck.. Comfy at the bottom, but it was way bulky at the top IMO.. :mrgreen:
