sansamp gt2

tone is very subjective itchy_go, my advice is to go and give these 2 pedals an extensive audition. Regarding range, the only diff i've felt between these 2 was that the Tri-AC's gain was a notch lesser than the GT2.

GT2: has options for setting the simulation of mic placement, preamp characteristics

Tri-AC: has versatility of saving up to 3 diff tones, addition of mid eq control

I finally got the tone I want from my TRI-AC :D Took me a damn long time (I owned it for like.. 4 months?) I have decided against the GT-2 because it doesn't have a mid control and it has funky mic settings; it seems like it's meant to be plugged into a mixer instead of being used like an amp.

I tried the GT2 b4. It doesnt sound tat good when plugged into an amp. Sounds better through earphones. And it sucked the tone out of my ds1 pedal.

i actualli was saving up 4 a tri ac . but den got ppl say the digital saving(the 3 switches) will go back to zero. so i thinking of getting gt2. got more gain aniway. but no mid control :(

tri ac uses digital switchin system but the path is all analog... all tone from analog components.. you really gotta try out.. i personally dont really like the gt2... sounds too fizzy to me.. not my kind.. but palm mute chug sounds great.. no boom...

And did you talk to those "ppl" to find out why such a thing happened?

Hearsay hearsay hearsay wouldn't get you anywhere, in fact, it would prob do more harm than good.

I have the above mentioned problem. Another user has it too. Its not even considered a problem, its a quirk. So 2 out of the masses of TRI ACs ard, does that make for a bad pedal?

And so what if the GT2 has no mid control? Have you tried it? After trying it, then decide if you still need the mid control.

There's actually a "Mids control" on the GT2 in the form of the Mic switch. Anyway, there're other ways to control the mids. For example, through the amp EQ or, even better, a seperate EQ pedal. Don't understand why people get put off by the lack of the mids control because the GT2 is one of the better distortion pedal out there (well.. for me that is). ;)

Whether you like the gt2/triac is dependent on what amp you run it through. It really sounds best through a clean keyboard amp or PA. What I don't like about it is that you've gotta "reconfigure" it with different amps. What I like... is the sound - nice and thick.

Hi any one can give a review on the diff between GT2 and triac?
And who is the distributor for tech 21 stuff? SInamex is no more distributing.
Any Ideas?

Here's my opinion :

GT2 : Nice, thick sounds. Very configurable, you can get most sounds you can think of. Only downside is the lack of three button switches, quite a pain if you like having a few tones ready. It does not work very well with some amps, have to tweak and tweak.

Tri-AC : The obvious plus pts are the mid-control and the three switches. Overdrive not as smooth sounding as what the GT2 can achieve. Pretty grainy type of overdrive, not the kind I like. The tweed channel is almost useless with higher gain, even when I tried overdriving it with my sd-1. Just plain bad, I dunno why. The british channel can get a nice drive sound. It sounds better with amps to be, maybe due to the cabinet simulator.

If you like clean, the GT2 is slightly better.

Overall I like GT2 better, but now I sold all my pedals haha.
