Putfile Says Goodbye To Singapore

At dawn on December 2nd 2005, Singapore hanged a citizen of Australia, despite a plea for clemency from the United Nations. Whilst Putfile is not a human rights campaigning organization, we believe that if a country must have the death penalty, there is no need for it be barbaric. It is enough of a punishment, and a deterrent, to take someone's life in a painless manner, without having to be barbaric about it. Putfile prefers to not continue to provide our free uploading service to a country that executes prisoners by hanging, a method of execution which can take up to six minutes to painfully execute the victim.

For this reason, we are at this time terminating all service to users from Singapore. We shall be happy to restore service following any positive move from the government of Singapore towards abolition of hanging as an execution method.

Goodbye Singapore,

Putfile.

seriously i dont give a damn about the putfile or whatever shit.

i still am angry and disappointed on s'pore decision to hang without the hugging and crap.

it WILL affect on how australians think of the sporeans. and i will also affect me in a way that i'm gonna migrate to australia in the future.

sometimes, i do wanna get out of spore.

2cents worth

well thats a shock.
i find this rather childish.
banning singaporeans from their services just because of our laws.
shame on you.

*if you desperately need to watch a video at putfile, i have a solution.
its a bit complicating tho, but if u'r that despo.
use www.anonymouse.org
go to the web, click on english, then enter the address where the video is located.
1)if you have a fast connection, it might load like usual. so, no worries there.
2) however, if you have a slow connection, it might not load. then on, what you can do is: after the putfile IMAGE appears, stop the page from loading, click view>source. a notepad will appear with putfile's html innit. then in the notepad, press F3 button and search for wmv. once u've found it, copy the address of the movie. the address should be like this. "http://x602.putfile.com/videos/c3-32201282356.wmv". do not copy anonymouse's link together. then go to windows media player, press ctrl+u and paste the link u've previously copied.
voila. the video. u can even go further, by saving the video. in file, press save media as.

told you is complicated.
hope that helped you.. =)

I support Singapore's law. WAd's the point of putting strict laws as deterrent if you don't carry out ur threat. letting this criminal get away wif a lesser penalty will juz show how weak we are.

ermm, here are some alternatives to media uploading.

Say hello to khai_egotype kids!

Anyway, just as Singapore has its own right to respect its own laws, the site admin also reserves the right to do whatever he wants with it. If this is his little stand against capital punishment by hanging, so be it.
