i think it looks more like SRV then JM (but still very far from both of em)
any types to recommend? i have 1500 and 1000 .

1500 and 1000 are more like fine polishing grit before swirl removal and buffing.
100-200 paint removal
400-800 fine grit for between stages.
i'd suggest 200-400-800 to make em scratches less hard edged but that said, i've never done any relic before and i'm not really a fan of relicing too.

D0 comment on my reshaping on the DOT's pickguard to make it more ES335-ish

imho, dont chop me
the geetar without pickguard will still be 335ish. The body contour(in general, without looking at dimension to the original gibson one that is), the centerpiece wood, the f holes, and the sound, is what make up the 335, in general. The external look factor can be minor. But overall, the epi dot is a fine instrument by itself without comparing to other brands with similar shape instrument but varies in some other aspect.

How are you finding the extra pickups? I understand the extra sounds are pretty useful, judging from comments and stuff... Do you feel any difference in the sustain and stuff due to the extra pups?
