Pedals: Challenge Yourself!

if im on a shoestring budget i would just get:

TS9dx
SM7 or sansamp gt2
PS-5
MXR 6 band eq
DD7/H2O

These pedals are fairly easily available and not too expensive....I've used them before too and i got fairly good tones...even remember gigging and the guitarist from this more "famous" band asked me what was i using....i told him just a ibanez ts9dx and a sm7...and ironically he is using the same setup till today....while i have moved on to better things :mrgreen:
 
Have always been using 4 pedals with an EQ (cause I don't have roadies to tweak my volume during solos)

Doubleshot Distortion > CE-2 > 95Q Wah > DD-7 > EQ (for volume boost)

Nothing more nothing less. That's what I always use, but I don't challenge Eric Johnson :P

Hahahaha... No joke... The crunch box seems to be going up in price. The last time I bought it, I paid $199SGD. Next thing you know, someone else is selling the thing at $200SGD and that's apparently after 20% discount! Wah! So, compared to a cheap (but reasonably good) Artec or Biyang pedal, the MI Audio hardly seems like budget... Heh...
 
Wow.. This thread surely grew when I wasn't away!

Guitar into amp to me is pretty difficult, unless your amp has 3 channels or more, and an active 3-band EQ for each, like a Triamp or something.. In such cases, pedals can only get in the way of good tone..

Nevertheless, this thread allows me to imagine the kinda tone you guys prefer.. And kjartan, I kinda expected yours to be the EXACT opposite of mine! (3 modulations, 1 drive compared to my 3 drives, 1 modulation)
 
for me :
guitar > Dunlop 535Q > Xotic BB+ > Trex Replica delay > MXR 6band > amps...

that pedals that i owned this day... =)
 
Must have at least 5:-
Low gain OD with great sound
Mid / high gain OD with great sound
Volume Pedal
Tuner
Boss DD-20

I am not specifying which great sounding ODs because so many to choose from!

Just checked out the Pedaltrain Mini at Ebenex... It can take a DMM and like... 3 more Boss pedals.

Pretty rad and marvelously light.

I could do with...

Goosoniquewerkz-ed DD-3
Goosoniquewerkz Boosty or Citrus.
 
How about a Boss pedalboard? Easy to get and replace.....

for me it'll just be

BOSS SD-1
BOSS DS-1/ML-2 (havent tried it yet...but i heard its way better than a stock MT-2)
BOSS GE-7
BOSS PS-5
BOSS DD-7

All into a Roland JC-120.

I would be able to survive with such a setup.
