It's been a while since emo threads started popping up every other week. Has anyone invented a new troo genre yet or are all the cool kids just gonna switch back to listening to the purity of metal?

Poor strait times writers. I don't think they are saying that such bands encourages suicide, but they did mention that the "signs" of a suicidal kid is someone who most likely listen to such music.
Music with emo lyrics are nice, but in the mind of a depressed teen, it only feeds the depression, don't u agree?
As for the "emo look" it seems to be a thing of the past. What's the new trend now? I am losing touch!

cutting/slitting wrists does not = emo (agree)
people who wear dark colored clothes/have long fringe does not = emo
(agree)
people who cut/slit wrists = attention seekers (agree)
attention seekers does not = emo (agree)
emo = emotional (disagree)
perhaps ur using too big of a word by saying emo=emotional
If my girlfriend breaks up with me. i could be emotional in a sad way
If someone insults me depending on the degree of the insult. i could get emotional in an angry sort of manner
If a loved one gives you maybe a hug. one could get emotional in a happy way
you,re bringing into the picture emotions. which is what everysingle person in this world has.
well in my opinion.
emo is related to depressed sort of feelings. but dont get my point mistaken. because i can be depressed that i failed a test but that doesnt mean that i,m emo.
its more like a forced depression.you could talk about being pessismistic maybe in a certain evolved way and taken to a higher degree.
Also another point would be about music. I think its a good idea to put emomusic and emo as a character as 2 different things. but theres no denying that a portion of emo characterism results from emo music themselves. The lyrics of songs. The image of the band. The things you relate the band with.Its the same for every genre
Note : i,m not talking about which musicians come to my mind or how to music sounds like. neither am i talking about what emotion the particular genre brings out. I,m talking about the actual existant things you can relate to
E.g ( well at least for my point of view )
If i say Rock you think : Headbanging
R&B , hiphop : blingbling
Jazz : lounges
Blues : i dunno why but for some reason i think of harmonicas
Metal : skulls
Reggae : palm trees
But when i think about emo. i think about blood
To a certain extent music affects the person listening to it. Combined with certain other factors e.g problems with friends , family etc. You get emo
