i think people have a right to make whatever kinda music they want, although that right doesn't entitle them to an audience that will necessarily appreciate it. conversely i think people are free to listen to whatever type of music they want, and if they dislike it well then they shouldn't be listening to it and complaining about it. that would be like me eating a piece of raw beef and complaining that it's not cooked.
insofar as fashion is concerned, again, i think people have a right to wear whatever they want to wear, and other people have a right to admire it or think it looks ridiculous.
this is simply because as a human, you have the basic human right to autonomy, which includes the right to dress as you see fit (as long as it is within legal bounds and not, say obscene or indecent because there are little kids in the world who don't want to see your nasty package), listen to what you see fit, like whatever music and fashion you like, and dislike whatever music and fashion you dislike.
nevertheless, if you're looking at someone whose dressing offends you, look somewhere else, it's not that hard. and if you're listening to a genre of music you can't stand, change the channel or play something else on your mp3 player, or go wherever you can't here that awful band that's playing. again, it's not that hard.
