Was wondering, have anyone used, owned, heard or tried any pedals of this brand and hw do you find them?? & where to gt them. Thnx!

I tried the Noah's Ark Red. Basically a boutique-d Ross/Dyna comp...

Small, pretty quiet, typical compression characteristics of that type of compressor.

Bad thing was the volume control was found on a trim pot inside the pedal, and to get to it, you would have to unscrew the pots, jacks and footswitch from the casing, then tweak. But its a set and forget thing...

Overall, it was great and the price isn't too bad. If you like the Ross style of compression, why not?

I tried the Noah's Ark Blue (chorus) for a short while. Not bad... mild and stuff but pleasant. I do prefer my CE-2 over it in terms of tones, but the size and TB of the Noahs' Ark is nice.

Thnx for ur reply shredcow, how abt the distortion pedals? which is say tat they the the jrc 4580d or jrc 4558dd chips in them...tried them b4?

Nope... they are probably refined tubescreamer types though and if you know me, I can't get along with them.

Btw, ebenex has a Noah Sark (this is how its really spelt right?) Red & Blue.

maxon?? like the d&s reissue?? actually like to try more of those not so mainstream bands and see what their pedal offers & sound like, brands like noah sark, crane tortoise, and some other funny brand names,of cos tat means more $ invlove haha..

Well....

I'd say, try to look out for stuff with innovative designs or at least, stuff that tries to go a step in a better/different direction.

I'm not an electronics guy but when I've heard, played, seen, read up on the 1 millionth tubescreamer clone... or some other drive that uses that JRC op-amp... I kind of expect similar results in sound & feel.

Maybe that is what rocks your boat but I've heard stuff thats seemingly tubescreamer like but yet, offers more than the old 3-knobs and a footswitch config - look at Edder's od pedal. I really like the pre-gain control, which isn't commonplace.

I think going after the design is more... rewarding than going after a different brand since a brand doesn't necessarily mean innovation... unless its uh... Subdecay? Zvex? I dunno...

Again, I'm not a techie, and I usually ask the tech ppl what they think of this or that, or even speak to the builders, or query the more "serious" players what they think of it... in order to like, not spend on something that's just a re-hashed pedal.

jrc 4558 chip one piece at $1 from simlim tower and theres plenty still, down to basement and look around, there njm 4558 chip also...

plenty cheap cheap op amps there can buy and try for pedals with ic socket..

Here we Go
