Dats why cannot stay long..

All in all, it was an awesome experience!!

shane is he good? he should be he sounds like he knows wat he's talking abt. so who do u think is the best drummer that was there and why.

yea shane is really really good with his theory and info and all that.. but then he still needs lots of work rite shane? no hard feelings. i'm no better..

hey hey stop telling who is better or not...... we all come over to learn and to share how to improve..... at least we know where we stand as a individual drummer ....... all the drummers are good in their own way.......... except me la of course ... i suck to da max thats why i go to the meetings to learn from the better ones........... hahahaha

yala shred.. ask u play u dowan to play.... tok cock only..haha

Next session, I'll play. Guarantee, chop plus confirm.

And please, there's no classifying who's the best and who's the worse.

Just like bro sunset_stone said, we're still learning everyday..

Comparisons are important. After comparing myself to the other drummers that day, i now know i need a lot more work and i'm even more motivated to practice like mad and improve.

I think to say who is best is unnecessary, just know where i stand and what i would choose to do about it is enough for the day. 8)

sollie sollie... don't worry. i don't mean anything laaa i oso not that good wat rite. i was just saying where to improve in. yea yea??

~peace~

I figured I really need to be working on getting in touch with the feel and playing with consistency. I've been reworking on most of my grooves, trying to play with a better feel and touch. Such as the mozambique, it's one thing to play the mozambique on toms and the cowbell, but it's another to make it groove like Gadd.

Also, after playing on the loose pedal at the studio, I realised I need to loosen my pedal a little as I've been relying too much on the spring action for my diddles and constant 16ths on the bass drum. The bass drum can either make or break the groove too, as I've learnt.

One person on this forums who I want to see rip out on the drumset would be Funkifized. He sure sounds like a killer drummer with the solid Rosanna shuffle, blushda and gadd licks.

And he also has to re-evaluate my trad grip and teach me some good ol' finger on stick action.

erm okie theres nothing wrong with saying who u liked best among the drummers and why u liked them. there are some poeple u think are awesome its ur opinion . i'm not trying to set up any competition. i'm just interested in what u guys thought. if i saw a drummer among that was like blew me away i wld be talking abt him and all that u know wat i mean. dun get me wrong i like the vibe u guys have and the eagerness. can't wait to meet u guys in nov when i get my sorry ass back.

i thought the adjustment of the bass drum pedal is personal preference??

i don't know..i can't play with the tension too loose..cuz i need the pull from the spring to help me play fast double 16th notes.if the tension is just right, i can play triplets at 160bpm with my right foot...
the other time i was gonna show u guys my triplet..but the bass drum pedal was too damn loose..i ended up doing it so slow..so paiseh la..
isit bad not being able to play at a loose tension? cuz when i started drums i turned the tension of my pedal to the max...and i'm comfortable with hard solid tensions..but not the ones which are too loose when we were playing iside that studio.. isit bad??

Haha, yes, I turned my tension to the max too. Well, I personally think it has its pros and cons. Loose tension works your feet. Tight tension allows you to control your pedals with ankle pivotting and sliding (sliding on a loose pedal just sounds stupid ). So yeah, it really depends on personal preference, you're right. But I still think its best to not over-rely on a certain pedal setting.

Best solution: Set your pedal tension to medium (factory settings). Use em right out of the box. That way, when you have to play with someone else's pedal, you probably won't feel that much of a difference. Helps you learn how to adapt fast to any kind of setting.

haha honestly i don't see how that's the best solution

cuz other pple may not have 'factory settings' like yours if u chose it that way.
and also..about adaptation.. i dont see how that helps to help u learn to adapt quickly... might as well u play with a really hard tension pedal then go on to a real loose one...or at any other tensions too...isn't that learning adapt too?
