most local awesome gig you ever been to?

OK I'm ancient, but it was long long time ago at NAFA around 1994/5. A 2 day gig where Seberynic, Sideshowjudy, Stoned Revivals, Livonia and a whole bunch of other great bands played.

More recent but a few years back, Tessaract around 2003, where a whole bunch of new sounds from Analog Girl, Aspidistra Fly, Astreal, I am David Sparkle, Big Red Moment, 3 Goddess AND visuals from Dekonstrukt. That gig really up'ed the bar for many local gigs to come. So far have not gotten that kind of feeling after 5 years.... Maybe Piana/Aspidistra/Sonicbrat came close but it was more intense then.

the best local gig i ever went to was in 2001...

venue: university cultural centre outdoor theatre
entrance fee: free!
experience: priceless!

it was a wake me up music gig...they were releasing the 3 letter session CD...the gig featured, let me see whether i remember the entire line up...hmmmm...there was surreal, my squared circle, gloria, march twelve, uncle joe (from Hong Kong), whence he came (also from (hong Kong), Return To Fall and Plain Sunset...plain sunset was the last band and they closed the gig with a blast! so yeah, dat was the most awesome local gig i went to...

it gotta be b quartet's album launch (tomorrow is our permanent address) at arts house! its a very intimate show and i got goose bumps from watching them then man

\m/

A few years back before Astreal, Astroninja and Caracal were popular...

Its gotta to be Licenses to Revolution 1,2 and 3.... and Idiosyncrasy at Lasalle.
The ska and punk hey days....

Favourite show has got to be Rock For Good. Now that was one of the most fun shows ever!
That, and the year Love Me Butch played at Baybeats, not sure how many years ago was it. Think about 3-4?
Also, the comeback of The Suns at The Esplanade.
A Vacant Affair at last year's Baybeats.

Lamest gigs will be those with lame slam dancers with no regard for other people there who aren't interested in looking like lovelovelovelovelovelovelove idiots. Any gig with too many kids wearing skinny jeans who pride themselves in being 'individualistic' while looking exactly like the trend-follower person next to them.

Youth gone wild was one of my first rock shows. I think Sembawang festival was my first? Both were one of my favourites.
Um.. What else... Couple of weekend trips were really good. *Scape gigs... Can't exactly remember all...
The Plainsunset one at the Esplanade. Allura at the Countdown thing. And many more!

Ohhhhh you were at Youth Gone Wild! ? that's so cool!
Liked that one too :) Was a lovelovelovelovelove to organize though and the place was so HOTTTTTTTT as in, like a steam room. lol

Xtreme Metal 3 @ gas haus. We played at the gig but i had the most fun as a spectator as well. One of those few times you see the crowd staying for every band and moshing the f*ck out! Best metal gig so far. Pretty surprising coming from gas haus but i bet any metalhead who was there would agree on it as one of the best metal gigs ever. It was packed!

Youth Gone WILD! I think thats the most awesome gig i've been cause that's my first. And loving the local music scene! Levan wearing panafore?(the girl's uniform).

HEHHEE... Wheres sabrina?

without a doubt, The November Iris at Youth Scape Park.

everyone had a good time.

they're a reely reely gd band.

damn, i wish i was part of a band, with that kind of standard.

DAMN!

best show ever, 2001 Rockstar Collective's maiden show, "The Get Rich Quick GIG"

bands that played:

Anaconda
Lead2Nitrate
Light of Day
Return to Fall
Marchtwelve
Drug Plant Patient
Unvisual
Dyfectra

amazing show for friends by friends.
from this line up, only march12 remains active i guess.

Wah... Lead2Nitrate.... That was way back and they were good.:)

2006 Baybeats was cool, there was Lunarin and Astreal and The Posies. Great great show. Still remember it.

My all time fave show (it beats the ones i went for overseas as well) was the Plainsunset "Break Up" show, The Epilogue, at Substation back in 2004.

The place was packed and everyone thought it would be the last time to sing-a-long to all our Plainsunset faves!

By the end of the show almost everyone like want to cry like that...

Its also one of the only time when a local band has put up their own solo concert.
wish we would see more bands taking that chance.

I know what you mean. The last time we did the B-Quartet album launch. Our balls shrunk to the size of peanuts. Damn scary...

sabrina's having A levels right now so she's pretty busy.

one of the best gig organizers the scene has seen!
