Live 'n Loaded - upcoming Ch 5 programme showcasing local music LIVE!

[=LiveNLoaded

Hi thanks for the taking the time to clarify. I think its important to let the peeps know whats the objective of the show and I guess you guys are taking a risk, albeit a calculated one, by allowing voting instead of doing some filtering on your own. Thats cool, I mean, its at least a start and maybe if there is a 2nd season, we can always improve on whats not so good on the 1st but until we do it, we will never really know what works and whats not.

Cheers, hope this gives a bigger platform to those established bands, and a bigger recognition to those bands who toiled for their passion in the past and a big break for those new bands just like my own band!

It's not a talent competition like you would see in American Idol, or god knows the other kind of mutated reality competition shows there are on TV. The "online voting" element came about only because we wanted to let the viewers/netizens have the say in which NEW TALENT they would want to see perform on TV, alongside others like GSE, Electrico, Plain Sunset, AVA, Vertical Rush, MarchTwelve, Jack & Rai, Muon, Force Vomit, B-Quartet, I Am David Sparkle, etc etc etc (just to give you guys a lil' heads up on who is scheduled to appear in Series ONE.

Hey Mardy... you left out Allura! :) And we will probably need some help from you. Will mail you very soon. Thanks!

Anyway, please talk to Concave Scream. They have a new album to hawk soon. :)

I just hope when the show gets out, the people that say our scene needs more recognition don't go like, "Ahh, mainstream. Pfft," or like, "My classmates are poseurs who watch Live'n'Loaded."

I just hope.

"Ahh, mainstream. Pfft," or like, "My classmates are poseurs who watch Live'n'Loaded."

Interesting points raised! The thing about local scene here is, well at least to me:

1) There is no mainstream! What underground? What mainstream? There is not even structured economics and business model of a proper music industry here for the musicians. Everything is fueled by passion and DIY of applaudable individuals. I never felt that any musician here has anything to sell out. Sell what? Goreng pisang? If you can sell as much albums as Electrico's We Satellites, go ahead and sell! Market your band with Nintendo Wii, Samsung.... selling out puts you out there, selling out gives you the money, selling out allows you to put more into your next album, selling out gets you that Fender walnut telecaster you always wanted, selling out gets you your 4x10 mesa boogie cab and amphead.

2) I wouldn't call someone who used to blow her whistle at a Click Five concert but now wears dark eyeliners, striped top and attends A Vacant Affair concert & watches local music tv show a poseur. I'll simply call it a positive local music convert. Objective met. Welcome poseurs!

I'll say, the less we worry about everything else, the more we conquer.

jjj

play music, have fun, get recognise isnt it part of the process....who wants to play infront of an empty floor....no one does....
maybe this Live n Loaded show can be an eye opener to the industry to watever forms of genres out there...

I sense something good coming out of this. It's really something to look forward to!

Greetings Softies and supporters of local music! Am here to share with you guys the latest update on Live 'n' Loaded.

Warner Music Singapore and Epiphone Singapore have kindly sponsored us an exclusive THE VERVE Epiphone EJ-200CE acoustic guitar (only one such guitar made in the world) to be given away to one of the first 200 local talents that sign up and create their profiles with us on our website 5.mediacorptv.sg/livenloaded

Below, you're looking at Richard Ashcroft of The Verve with the Epiphone guitar model. The one that The Verve's management has kindly gave us bears a unique The Verve graphic finish similar to their new album Forth cover art.

pic size is massive! is it possible to resize smaller?

We do beg your pardon for the initial huge filesize, because that was our reference picture. Anyway, Oligarchy, you guys were one of the first few to create your profile with us on Live 'n' Loaded website, thanks for the support!!!

We do look forward to more bands coming forth and showcase their stuff on our website! Exciting times ahead, with the releases of Vertical Rush and A Vacant Affair new albums, both bands are appearing in our Episode 2 lineup!

Last night watching Malaysia's 8TV - not too late either - I saw an entire programme devoted to One Buck Short. Songs done live in the studio w/ a few interviews in between. Forgot the name of the band featured the week before that... but it's a regular show. Generally format is one featured band and extra segment on an instrument somewhere in there too.

And then the next show had Otherside Orchestra sat round on a sofa w/ two presenters and there was a clip on Couple's album launch.

Malaysia boleh or what. And all these bands think Singapore is more sophisticated and a better place to play in some respects. Ho ho.

Happy new year.

Singapore is the SE Asian hub of sophistication!!! or sophistry.......hmmmm yeah anyways lets get this thang started maybe one day down the road we can have like a real tokcock segment where bands get dissed by the asshole presenter and they fight on TV....best.....
