hey i wanna make a super mod on my TGM...u read correctly, TGM les paul. my first ever guitar and i love it. did the wrap-around thing, yeap can definitely see the difference in sustain.
may do all the mods listed by pathein, well except the ah beng lights of course (but hey if steve vai can do that, hmmmmmmm). hehe. and the aluminium tailpiece is $48?! wow didnt expect that.

Or you could buy the Gibson one for 400 bucks.....If i remember the price at Swee Lee is correct.
one more mod no one mentioned, shaving the neck to the thinner profile, many greats did it, Joe Walsh did it on his '59 les paul n didn't like it, so he sold it to someone named jimmy n it's been his no 1 guitar ever since...
for gibsons many not, but epi users wouldnt mind taking the finish off the neck to really feel the difference. the finish is quite thick n also not so smooth in singapore's weather...

^ I think I read it somewhere... Joe walsh didn't shave the neck... it was his bandmate who shaved the neck and sold to Joe walsh but he didnt like it... that's why he sold it to jimmy page.... sorry out of topic a bit. LOL.
theunknown: it's not worth it. I did the JP mod and new pickups on my 300 bucks lp copy... it doesn't make a big difference. because as we all know, most china made guitars got really cmi qc. i would rather change the frets. and things like that.

squirrel: sell me ur gibson for $100 can? not everyone is as rich as some people here.
teleplayer: yeah i estimate that the mods i wanna do will cost 3x the guitar itself. and thing is seems like my guitar is a gem. surprisingly good tone and qc and well set-up on purchase. and it's my first, which i treasure more than my much more expensive other guitar. u can see both guitars on 1st post of gear gallery. im the TS.

^ yeah that les paul copy looks decent... but 'TGM' on the headstock totally ruined the whole guitar. LOL. no haha. fyi, i paid around 400-500 for the jimmy page wiring and a pair of fralin pickups. so it's not that expensive but this amount can be spent on other areas which would be of greater worth..
we know that you have a gibson. but does that mean everyone has to play only gibson like you? at the end of the day, it is still the player that matters the most, not the headstock of the guitar.
No I don't. I use a TGM. No money to buy Gibson la. I'm just a struggling musician trying to make ends meet.

heh, end of the day, what ever mods that can be done, as long as there no music, no sound that was created by the person using the instrument. Whatever brand, mods or how expensive it is, also no use..
of course we guitar playing folks prolly not so shallow and would have see through all the gimmicky thngys(brands, cost of guita retc) and concentrate more on creating sound that fit in a music context. right???

heh, though you already have one, the proto with the beng flame design. Wasnt there a review in the review section? Oh, some people have been asking for soundclip of the thing as well. So when can hear the proto LP in a music context, soundclip, live gig etc
