why? cause you've gone through so many things and you are never happy with what you have. after you get a podxtlive, you'll sell it cause you don't like it.

you are changing far too many things and too fast.
simply you dont know what you want or what you need.
if i were you james, just stick with what you have.
and learn the instrument well.

dude listen to more music, play abit more. read abit more. use the google well.

yeah. alot of good tones can be gotten from just one pedal.. the ds1 is a nice distortion pedal. Joe satriani can live on it. Why cant u??
another thing. Ive tried rats before and they sound good on chords.. You probably have not tweaked ur rat properly yet. spend some time with the rat and tweak the settings! Its a deucetone rat, which has 2 channels.. DUDE 2 channels. tweak one for chords and one for lead!!!
Doing this will save u ALOT of money. seriously. just plug ur guitar into the rat then to amp. then tweak from there. spend hours on it. tweaking the pedal and u will get your sound from it..

And i think you dont understand the meaning of "starving/suffering" for a pedal yet. I mean you'er just 13 how much will your mum allow you to "suffer" for a pedal. So dont any how say it took you like dunno how many years to get the rat or smth.
I sincerely hope you find the sound or whatever that you want but i hope that you wont have to waste money buying and tossing stuff all over the place. Money doesnt come easy.

he uses tons of other shit too.
what i meant was on his pedalboard, besides his amp drives. you can only see a ds1.
point is although its a cheap simple pedal, but it sounds great with good fingers.

Just correcting the blanket.
Then again this proves that the fingers matter.. ALOT.
So jms... seriously, build up on your skill after you get your od pedal and amp.Practise everyday man. try to find a friend to motivate you to practise or a hero u wanna play like.. lets say joe satriani. His skill didnt come like.. in one day. It was YEARS AND YEARS of practise.. so practise is very important man.. This is the only thing i can help you with. The rest is up 2 u.
Seriously guys. I think he needs a new amp.. his current amp is not very good.
Also, im not against you for wanting so many pedals. Alot of people are like that too. For example, gerald said u wanted a pod xtl. so u may have been looking for a solution right? a "one off" solution to provide your needs for pedals. This may work and may not. Mind you, the Pox xtl has ONLY 3 Drives. This may not sustain you and im quite sure there is a high chance of u switching back to single pedals.. this has happened to many guitarists who are in a similar situation as you.
So as said before. Buy what you need now.. then build on skill and dont think about pedals!
