Is there a need to dress to define what you listen?

BLING is cool.

Look at your own guitars!!! Stickers, upgrades, different knobs, shiny stuff... we all LOVE BLING!

Haha, you forget them pedalboards with all those "ah beng" leds ;)

Just a sidenote:
I kinda dig bands(good music of cos) who dress up during performances.
It's the showmanship thing =)
And hey, for some of us here, performing is just about the only time that allows for a 'lil more style dress wise, accessories or clothing we may not wear any other day.

Well.. I like Jrock and pop and stuff. And I like the Japan fashion. (<--- Aims to be a fashion designer one day.) And I dress myself up mostly to what I like such as elegant gothic lolita, gothic lolita or gothic punk. I also does cosplay too. Does this makes me a poseur?

People dress what they like. And most of the time, influence by the music they like. If you think most people who dress up is poseur, then those band whom you look up to, they dresses up too and created the look! Are they poseurs too? And if they are, do you like those poseurs?

why do we keep spending time analysing people to see if they are posers? why must we keep stereotyping people? this is so sad lah. Can't we all just get along and not judge?

No!

well i think to a certain extend. you could.
But wearing leather jacket etc etc EVERYDAY would be overboard.
For gigs, performance, it might be acceptable to wear that as it protraits what you are right?

Then nowadays, those people find it so cool that they starts to wear that way too without knowing what it is, because it is sold in 77th street =X

budden now the whole streets is infested with those ah lians. they wear but eyes all glitter glitter like a mix between goth and pop/preps
