I can't say if this will sell or not because many people out there would feel the same way about Gibson manufacturing a "Stratocaster". Perhaps it might attract beginners and perhaps a curious crowd but it won't last as a stock production model for sure. The hype will wear out.

Honestly, I can't say that's for sure... To be honest, now that they seem to be moving towards a set-necked model, with an interesting trem design (Reminds me of that was in the original Brian May Red Special), it might actually be something worth looking at. If Gibson decides to launch this model on it's own merits, and doesn't use the Jimi Hendrix name, then this might just work. Don't forget, we live in the age of Suhrs, Andersons, Tylers etc etc... They are all Strat-copies of sorts, yet have added their own innovations. if this Gibson "strat" is a setnecked model, and carries enough differences, it just MIGHT work.

The necks show a very very wide nut slot, which could have a locking nut. Or even better, imagine a "Robo-Strat"? THAT would be cool!
