Last Thursday, “Marxist” from soft SMSed me that he wants to me to help me bid 2 guitars on eBay for him. Out of goodwill & since we all love music & equipments, I lend a helping hand. He then gave me the links. It was a Gibson ZW Custom Shop & a 57’ Historic Goldtop. 1st thing it came to my mind is that he’s filthy rich!!!! But then when I saw the price, which was HKD$88 & its from PRC, I knew it was a fake.
So I told him it was a fake. Then he says what makes me think so. It looks real…. & at an unbelieveable price!!!!! I want it!!!! I tried to persuade him don’t get it. You’ll regret. He said nevermind. He really wana get it & he even asked to monitor the time left. WTF???
So when evening comes when most people are going home, Im having a TV conference meeting with my Jap counterparts. He kept on smsed me that the time left was 1/2hr, how??? I really love the guitar… I was kinda annoyed so I make a quick stop to my desktop, log into eBay & bid the 2 items.
When I reached home & checked my mails, the items bidded was won. So I smsed him that you won the items & the total price for both guitars + shipping is SGD$800+. He replied ok & give him a few days.
On Saturday, I smsed him how was it. He replied & asked me whether can he pay a deposit, then when the item arrives, he will pay in full. I was like…… Hello!!! You’re not buying items from me. You’re buying on eBay. How to pay deposit? He then replied that I pay 1st for him. I was like !@#$%^& “I have my own commitments”. He replied ok. Give him a few more days.
On Monday he replied “I think I want to cancel the purchase. Not ready to take in new guitars” I was like ‘boiling’ in the wee hours in the morning to work…. Hes practically playing me like a merry go-round. I don’t really care about my eBay’s rating or whatsoever. It’s the trust that’s important.
Just to share something to you all guys.
