Goose's New Dirt Pedal... A first look & listen...

What is it?!

I've only had it for... 2 days... so this is what I can say it is...

Its a muff-like thing... that yet isn't really muff-like. For starters, the thing:

1) Works well with Volume Knobbage. Actually cleans up decently - shocker. And tone knob manipulations are translated well.
2) Its quiet. Max the gain then you hear a little bit of hiss... expected for that much gain but way low still.
3) Its got clarity... you can do arppegios and you can still hear the individual notes ringing out

I'll leave it at these 3 very obvious points first.... I need more time with it but those points - really obvious lah... cannot miss.

Here's a doodled clip. Meaning, it is unstructured and I was really just fooling around - will give you an idea of what the pedal can do but i did not tweak the knobs much except to max the gain later in the clip. This was recorded via a line-in, no mic-ed up tones, which would be more punchy/impressive/louder/toneful/yaddayadda...

Guitar --> Pedal --> Palmer PDI-09 --> Mac with Garageband

Oh, played with the volume knob a little way into the clip...

Its got a blue LED so its boutique.

I think Goose has got something going on here... something good. Reason being, this pedal actually has versatility (within Muff-dom), clarity, dynamics and in-your-face-ness.

Thanks Goose - I wouldn't care to do this if the pedal did not inspire.

Anyway, more time with it... then proper pictures and demo clips will be up.

i understand ah...

Based on my own feedback, listening to my clip...

I did not showcase sustaining notes... inter-note-harmonic-ring-modulation-from-hell... big ass power chords.... play with higher output pickups... play with a neck humbucker.... so on so forth.

Next time for that. ;)

No problem Goose...
like what I said, I wouldn't care to do anything unless the pedal inspired...

And I liked how the pedal reacts to my playing... can do pseudo-shred-wankage on it...

No worries ...as you know iam not into the *amp like* *transparent* stuff but wanted to give something for the pure pleasure of makin music.

What i was goin for is a high gain'ish fuzz that does the note seperation well so as to give much clarity in chord work with nice amount of sustain for single note solos ....as i found lots of high gain'ish fuzz just mush out!!

Its pretty much pick sensative for the pure pleasure of expression 8)

So far it has been used succesfully and receiving good reviews as being easy to tweak for recording ! I am happy !!

The parts crucial for this build is hard to come by so i am not sure for how long i can sustain .... hopefully i can find good subtitutes soon.

Enjoy.

Goose, is this the drive you were using when you showed me your rig the day I went to collect the Tremor?

If it is, it does sound awesome! And you might just have an order on your hands from me in the near future. Hopefully, still have parts then! Heh. :D

heh, i enjoy the tonal quality of the characteristic for the pedal. But the end dee dee delll dooo dooo weeee oooooohhhh eeeee brought me back to real world.

But hey goose boss, good sounding sound i must say. You have another nice one in the catalogue!

Pathein! What talkest thou? :P "i enough the tonal quality..." huh?

I think what's really good about goose's pedal, for lovers of muff tones... is that its quiet... and you still get your wall of sound going on. There's clarity too but if you are into the wall of sound then... you want wall of sound lah...

haha, paiseh, wanted to mean enjoy. Just finished night shift, brain is closing shop

heh, wall of sound shud include hiss and noise, so when the guitar is not playing, there will still be signal to be modulated and processed  Recording too, with hiss and noise and hum, feed it with plugs in and mixed/pan into final track as back ground sound!

Oh yesh that *pre-amp tube* SS head thingy :smt011 it doesn't even sound good played loud by itself ?!?!

Btw our later jams were laced with a Mesa dual switched to 6L6 ...oh boy ...uber Love!!
I love the fact that i can have control via my guitar volume knob ...sweet swell into singing feedback ... ok iam itchin all over now !!

bro Cool no worries i got ample to make another 50 the most !
Fwah sound like those pooteekers, limited run wait for hype and black market price to go up then after a few months magically found new parts can make some more. :D

By the way, my site is revamped and I linky you and Edder also. Let me know if you want me to add anything, or if have anyone else I missed out.
