@shredaddict hahahah too many already bro

@jms hard to say much cause i havent tried that many amps nor have i been able to unleash its real potential at louder volumes. but its a really versatile soab. cleans are great, and in built drive is actually enough to do some heavy stuff. cons are lack of reverb and a footswitch capability

Just got this a few hours ago, cheap $199. Sounded quite nice to me, unlike other dual humbuckers.
For a beginner, this guitar seems good?
(Accidentally snapped my first string, gonna replace the whole set of strings with GHS steel coated asap)

The cosmetics was quite a turn off to me, the 'f-hole' wasn't fully / properly painted.
White specks of uncoloured wood surfaces, how did it pass QC ?
Gonna spray paint it myself white / black soon, but well... for the price this is really neat

My cheapo Squier Bullet Strat. The upgrades done were black GFS locking tuners, black graphite nut, GFS brass block black tremolo bridge, Tonerider Rocksong bridge hb and a Tesla rail hb at the neck position. One volume knob.

Sounds and feels awesome...:)

nice one, ZhonSolitario... but the bridge kinda puts me off a bit... I'm a tune-o-matic kinda guy *shrugs*
anyways, I bought this a couple days ago... I love the old, cracked, busted finish.
AL-820-CKBW_huge.jpg

Stripped out the wires, caps and pots and replaced them with CTS pots, Sprague and Mallory caps and solid-core wiring.
But I stopped short of replacing the EMG-designed Pickups.. Just adjusted the height and aligned the pole-pieces a bit...
As far as my untrained ears can tell, there's just a little bit of definition and a wider and more useable tone sweep. I think for once, I am actually gonna keep the stock pickups. (coming from a guy who tends to replace stock pickups faster than yu can say Synester Gates)
But that's about it...
Overall a really good deal if you're looking for a super value-for-money axe or if you know your stuff, a few minor improvements and this guitar might serve u for quite some time....

I'm just starting out, this might just be a trashing / shredding guitar.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to do some changes to it, the QC really sucked (Cosmetic).
The 'f-hole' wasn't fully painted, has a patches of white specks (inside).
I think I'm gonna D.I.Y. and spray the 'f-hole' either white or black.
The knobs gonna be changed asap to the 'metal (chrome)' ones, upgrading of pickups later and urgently need of new set of strings.
Just curious, is it possible to change the bridge to the Tune-o-matic bridge setup ?

To change, it needs quite a lot of work to be done... so short answer is no.
but u'll get used to it. In my case, its just a preference...
suggest that u see if the electronics and/or tuners might be worth upgrading instead...

I think if you're just using it as a starter, then it's not so necessary to go through the effort of re-painting the f-hole... painting is messy business and paint, if it gets on your clothes, or other parts of your guitar, it'll be very hard to remove. Is the poor paintjob on the f-hole obvious?

Ibanez QC is quite inconsistent... tried an ICT700 before (it costs $1.7K) and it looked real cheap. But it did sound good. Find a well-made Ibanez GIO and it'll be a pretty darn good guitar. :) Had one, never used for years (I used it a lot, it was my only guitar until I bought my Pacifica), sold to my friend. I took it to the shop before selling it to him, and even after 5 years plus of not setting it up, etc, the setup was still perfect! Suddenly regret selling it but ah well!

Sub: Nope, its not. Its a black pickguard that I got from Ebay back then. If you observe the part where neck part is, there's the white portion. Was done to accommodate a 22 fret neck back then on my other partscaster. So now using that same pguard on my Bullet with that modded pguard, doesn't look pretty but still fits well :)

Reminds me of a Charvel bro! Nice guitar!

It's the first blemish I found on the guitar, but after stalling at sweelee for 2 hours...
The f-hole is the only part of the guitar with blemish, the guitar is just sweet.

I need help about something, does the neck seems dry ? The pores* are very obvious and deeper than the picture (Due to the lighting).

Was looking for a Aria XL STD at Davis then they said that is wasn't in their shipment...
Definitely going to repaint the f-hole (I'm required to sand the original* paintjob down before applying the new paint?)
And replace the knobs / tuners :D
