haha... penta, why not? :P If lah.

I just want to finish that equation. Are tube amps the end all to everything? I guess until I've tried the pitchard amps, I wouldn't know, and I am not convinced tubes rule over all.
 
haha, the end of everything is personal choice. As personal as using right hand or left hand in time of need when theres no backup around when having to do that time warping, mind boggling and universe reversal solo!
 
ehhwait i thought if u wanted earlier breakup u use the 12AUs or AT7s. the 12AX7s will breakup the latest.

ah but den what most pple r looking for is basically the tube amp sound. this is due to the harmonics produced by both transistors and tubes. tubes specialise in the lower harmonics which sound more pleasant to the ears. also it gives the warmth and all. transistors produce the higher harmonics which to the ears are read as buzz and volume thus transistor amps always sound louder and more intolerable when at high volumes while tube amps at loud volumes still sound sweet to the ears. i went to do some research on the differences and stuff.

dont believe, ask the dudes from any, either guitar or amp forums. Dont ask the effect forum side thou. They are busy gasing or buying then to worry about amps usually :lol:

haha, the ultimate truth is always, who got more money, get to play more. Go ahead and try man. Afterall its all about having fun playing and finding, without seeking opinions or follow advice, in some situations.

Dont believe those that say waste time only. Ask them to watch more ch8 hokkien dubbed mandarin serial from taiwan!

woahhh rauuuu, bro bro cow, why you like that. I love those taiwanese serial lor. They have retained the analog feel much more and way ahead of TCS produced show trying to be analog but still way digital!

It's a bit difficult to even answer the question even when you get a Pritchard. Too many variables. You can even get a worse amp when you put super high quality components into an amp, than an amp that is well designed with the suitable components in mind. And then there's still prior experiences and bias. You can get a Pritchard and someone will still disagree that solidstates can win tubes, all else being equal. Because in real life, very few things are all else being equal.
