Me more int in the head. Combo is gd in a sense got gd speakers in one combo, n can bring ard easily. Head, can have more options to match cabs, but really who offers gd affordable cabs with celestions except Carvin. So may end up selling my current one, n buying a carvin one.
As MrE has clarified, the local cost price(In SGD) is the USD web direct price X2, no need to further convert it to singapore dollar, just X2.

hey weiht... due to unforseen cirumstances, i'm back in the quest for a new amp.
considering the carvins again. but maybe not the V3 cos i think it may be impractical to play a 100W tube amp in the bedroom. before i can turn it up loud enough to realise its optimal tone, i think i'd be half-deaf
so... i'm thinking of the SX series - maybe the SX300 head or combo. the combo is more appealing now simply because of its form factor as compared to the head + 2x12 cab
should be about SGD 800
but that doesnt include footswitch, unfortunately.
are u still keen on the V3 then? i think i may pay a visit to ranking on sunday to ask about ordering the SX300. anyone wanna tag along?

dudes, went down to ranking today to ask abt the carvin. same as what weiht reported, SGD price will be 2x the USD webprice. weiht mentioned something like that's the price before discount.... but i didnt ask abt that. 
guess they do give a bit of discount? not sure cos i never bought anything from them before

Not a clue. I'm hoping for under $900 for a 30W otherwise i'd rather get a nomad or a 59 bassman during end of year sales.

i tried the Carvin SX300 head + combo that someone was selling on Luther, as ironickel pointed out as well.
very nice cleans (not so warm, but that's personal), but i wasnt impressed with its distorted tones, so i passed on it. hence i have also reconsidered the Carvin SX300 combo i was eyeing initially. the V3 is likely much better for distortion (although i've not tried it) but it's out of my budget unfortunately.
from the SX300 experience, i was reminded of how impt it is to try an amp before you buy it. reviews on HC are very subjective. so Weiht, as keen as you are on the V3, hope you get the chance to try it before you go ahead with the order.
if it's really good, i might put it on my 'Tube Amps to Buy before I Die' list

SURPRISE, SURPRISE! Ibanez SAS36 has landed. one of which has taken residence in my room :rock: it seems that the Asian stock are from Korea (World Music Factory, the same production hands that handle the Korean Prestige/ PRS SE models), while Europe receives the Chinese version.

it seems that Ibanez has equipped the SAS models/ SA260 with an undisclosed AA grade flame maple laminate for the body AND headstock.
