That 8470 is absolutely gorgeous.
PinkSpId3r, guitars are meant to be played, I know how you feel, so just play them and don’t worry about scratches. By the way, do you own any JEM?

PinkSpId3r, the hardware on that J Custom will tarnish and rust. Pretty fast. Unless your body chem make up is different.
Its a gun metal finish correct?
Ibanez's cosmo/gun metal chrome/gold finishes are ... not know for lasting.
I suggest you buy a pda plastic, plaste it over your picking area. Then take it up and play. Wipe it down when done... repeat. Play it. I have my Custom guitar and I just play it... spent 3 months rubbing oil on my guitar's body. Got dinged. Got scratched. Heart ache? No. Because I realised, this guitar is going to be my guitar, my tone machine, my extention of... myself. Don't need to be hindered by anything else.

its a cosmo black finish..my old axe also spots cosmo finish, it rust till really jia lat and somemore i have sweaty palm.
i just finish pasting some transprency thinggie on it and was thinking why am i doing this? Agree with what you said. its going to be my guitar, i feel theres actually no need to do all these things. let there be scratches & dings. i will not let it hinder my playing.
